Vollex is a high-ranking noble from the currently unnamed 5th Isle. Once upon a time, he was an elf, adopted from overseas. He spent his whole life preparing to be turned into a vampire hunter -- an undead being whose original purpose was to hunt and kill unruly vampires. Now, they're created as a display of power, as hunters are the ruling class of the 5th Isle.
