CaertasanrÃ
The legendary faebane sword, sealed in stone to await being drawn by the rightful ruler of Albion. Talan himself does not wield this blade, but rather guards the pool where it resides. Later, Talan guards and serves CaertasanrÃ's wielder, Monarchling Mikhael Valiore, once they claim the sword for their own.
Hydromancy
Talan inherited his mother's affinity with water. Oddly enough, Talan's greatest affinity is with sea water rather than the pure water that flows through the forests of Avalon. When manipulating sea water Talan's control and power is greatest.
Talan cannot create water, only manipulate existing water, hence he excels in humid environments or locations with water features. His powers lend well to defense and utility, with water walls absorbing (or at least slowing) oncoming blows and projectiles or being used to hinder the enemy. However, many of his offensive abilities require a long build up, drawing water together into a mass to then launch at apponents. With sufficient build up, Talan's attacks can be quite devastating - forming tidal waves and riptides.
Talan's control is strongest when the water is closest to his body; he often directs it to flow across his skin, strengthening his movements and somewhat protecting him. The thin layer of water is also able to heal light wounds and slow the bleeding of heavier wounds, enabling Talan to fight for longer.
Guardian Blessing
A kind of innate magic that a fae can imbue a loved one with, serving as a manifestation of their wishes for their safety. The blessing leaves some kind of mark on their body and is often reciprocated.
Talan bestows this mark upon Mikhael.
Story
Family Legacy
The third child of Trosten and Eris, Talan is the eldest to inherit his mother's affinity with water and hence the duty of guarding the legendary sword, CaertasanrÃ.
Inheriting the title Lord of the Lake, Talan has taken over his mother's duty in guarding the faebane blade, waiting for the day a human monarch seeks to claim it. Should that monarch be worthy, they may pull the sword from the stone which sits in the centre of a pool in the forest, marking them the rightful ruler of Albion.

Trivia
General
- Talan is nearly always smiling; this is the mask he uses to hide his true feelings.
- A 'mantle' of water cascades down his back; this is a manifestation of his element and can act as wings, a cloak, or an aura.
- The sword he guards is named CaertasanrÃ. When the young Monarch of a fallen kingdom successfully claims it, Talan guards the sword's wielder, seldom leaving Mikhael's side.
Combat
- Talan is adept in combat, having trained from a young age and sparring regularly with his family.
- He enjoys combat as a sport, but loathes it as a means of war.
- When in battle, Talan fights without restraint, giving it his all. He will fight until exhausted or downed.
Social
- Talan's cheerful and amicable nature lends him to easily making conversation with all kinds of people.
- Talan is difficult to read, hiding most of his true emotions behind a smile.
- To lessen his intimidating presence, Talan takes on a cheerful and friendly demeanour, trying to appear as non-threatening as possible. He is aware of his tall stature and - particularly among humans - the repuation of the fae, and so works to negate this.
Design
- He has a mole under his right eye!
- Talan has lots of freckles, not just across his cheeks but all over his body.
- The blue of his eyes shimmers like water.
Relationships
The rightful wielder of Caertesanri whom Talan devotedly serves and follows. His love and loyalty for Mikhael knows no bounds.
When the weight of Monarchy weighs heavy on Mikhael's shoulders and the pressure threatens to twist Mikhael's morals, Talan is their solace and counselor, offering comfort and perspective. Mikhael does likewise for Talan, and so in this way they hold each other accountable for their actions.
Talan's eldest brother; Jei is short tempered and gloomy. He takes after his mother, having an affinity with shadow.
The two brothers clash frequently, disagreeing over many things. However, both know that ultimately they have each other's backs and both want the best for each other - even if that 'best' is very subjective.
One of Talan's older siblings, Lu is soft-spoken and more interested in reading and research than anything else. He takes after Trosten, having an affinity with forests.
Due to Lu's calm disposition, Talan and them rarely argue. Their caring nature leads both of them to tend to agree with each other, although Lu is more thoughtful about things than Talan is, often cautioning their younger brother against impulsivity.
Talan's little sister; Kydis is often argumentative for the sake of it, tending to get along better with Jei than any other sibling.
Talan and Kydis were closer when they were younger, banding together as the youngest siblings when their two older brothers did more 'grown-up' things. Talan also doted on his little sister greatly, but since reaching her teens Kydis has decided she no longer wants to be coddled, seeking the company of Jei instead. When Kydis wants comfort and emotional support however, she goes to Talan.
