Ren and Jun met 2 years ago during their freshman year. They were in the same orientation group and the same required foundation year class. Ren was ecstatic and enthusiastically introduced himself to his seat neighbor, Jun. Jun, was flustered by the other boy but gladly receprocated his introduction. From then on, the two found themselves in each other's company during most of their free time. At first, it was Ren, who initiated hang outs and invited an awkward Jun out for meals and karaoke but soon, Jun found his footing. They shared their interests with each other and spent a lot of time talking. At some point, they mused that they were spending more time together than with their roommates or people they had more of an opportunity to see in their respective programs.
At first, they were just friends. They were practically inseparable and quickly became assosiated with each other around campus. Ren was popular but always prioritized spending time with Jun if Jun didn't want to go to a group hang out. Because of Ren's lack of boundaries, Jun started thinking about their relationship. He had always known he was bi but truthfully, never really had any experience up until that point. He couldn't help but feel his chest tighten and his face get warm when Ren flashed him his signature bright smile. Having finally realized his feelings, Jun began to act out. He started pushing Ren away despite not really wanting to separate from the other boy. At some point, Jun had reacted harshly to Ren who had tried to contront him about his recent behavior. As soon as the words left his mouth, Jun immediately regretted it. Luckily for him, Ren was not one to back down so easily. Ren gently asked Jun to just tell him what he actually wants to say and that he'd listen carefully without judgement. It was in that moment that Jun confessed. Jun half expected to see Ren taking it all in stride but when he looked up after his little speech, Ren's face was completely flushed. Ren admitted that he'd been interested in Jun for a long time now but could never find the right time to tell him. They started dating and have been going steady ever since.
When they finished their sophomore year, Jun suggested that they start roomming together. He tried to make it sound casual, but they pair couldn't help but think about the implications of living together. Over the summer they looked for an affordable apartment and moved in during the early days of August. It was then when they were able to meet the other's parents. Both Ren and Jun's parents had known for a little while but this was the first time they were all meeting each other. Albeit a little embarrassing, they were happy and felt like they were making small strides to becoming proper adults.
Nowadays, they bask in the domestic life of busy college students. Their schedules have become much busier in comparison to their freshman days and they no longer share any classes, but that doesn't stop them from spending as much time together as possible. Ren makes most of their meals since Jun is helpless with a kitchen knife but to make up for it, Jun cleans up and does a little more of the housework. They've eased into a blissful flow and couldn't be happier.
