!!!LORE ALERT!!!

Urik is a poltergeist, which means he is partially bound to the material plane and is able to interact with objects and people... sometimes. This largely depends on his state of mind; for example, he might be able to interact with objects if he feels very strongly about something, or he might be unable to interact with anything if he feels disconnected with memories, his surroundings, or even himself (his appearance fluctuates with this as well, having a normal color palette at times and a solid pale blue at others). This goes for any poltergeist. There are some cases in which Urik should be able to interact with things but is unable to because whatever - or whoever - he is trying to interact is in a stronger state of mind. It's kind of hard for me to describe with words but I plan to use this factor as an insight to the mental state of characters(mainly Carmen and Urik) in my comics someday. Everything here sounds cooler in my head, hopefully I can communicate it better through pictures.

CARMEN

Aauuheeh???? Their relationship is weird, sorta on and off as of the present day timeline, they were close at one point but there’s a lot of tension between them now. They both still care about each other a lot but they’re honestly better off not seeing each other at all.

They met at a family party(or something like that), after which they moved in together and began making music. Carmen made up tunes on the piano on the spot while Urik transcribed them, and they occasionally messed with synthesizers and other hardware. At some point Carmen mistakenly writes Urik’s name as such (the correct spelling is Yourick, they are pronounced the same), and it became an inside joke between them to spell his name like that (which is why Carmen refers to him as Urik while others refer to his as Yourick, just a small detail I thought I’d explain).

SIMON AND THE DETECTIVE(s)

Simon’s job(as you probably already know) is to help spirits pass on by helping them find peace/resolve inner conflicts/get closure on life events(like I said on his profile, he’s basically a ghost therapist). The problem with this is that Urik is extremely stubborn and refuses to open up about anything to anyone. No one(not even Urik himself) is sure why his consciousness remains in the material plane and it will most likely stay that way for long time(or at least until he decides he wants help). For a while it was only Simon/Keiko(and Carmen) who was aware of Urik’s dilemma until a detective and his young relative arrived investigating the disappearance of a young couple, namely Carmen and Urik themselves. 

• His entire character was based off of Tuff Ghost by The Unicorns when I made him in high school and he has not changed at all since. The song still applies to him and I think that's cool.
• I don’t even know how he died bc he won’t tell me
• Ghost!Urik (and pretty much every other thing residing in the astral plane) cannot be seen by people without clairvoyance (with the exception of Carmen, who somehow can see him(probably thanks to Simon)).
