CLOTHING STYLE: will wear almost anything, though they still have some sense of dignity to avoid more embarassing outfits. they don't know anything about fashion, they just like dressing up in cool looking outfits, especially anything formal or gothic
DESIGN NOTES:
- their base body behaves like a shadow (ba dum tss), blending together into one big blob. this aspect of their design is completely optional though, i usually only apply it to their face
- their large hands and feet aren't a stylistic choice. the size is inconsistent though, make them as big as you see fit
- the length of their ears is inconsistent as hell. sometimes they stop past their shoulders and other times they stop past their knees, don't think about it too hard
- the long fluffy bits behind their head are ears... kind of? they're fluffy appendages of some kind. they usually blend in with the rest of their body but there are indeed two of them, they sprout out the sides of their head
- their eyes and cheek markings can change color, typically to match whatever outfit they're wearing

- two dark red ovals on the face, in the bottom outer corner of their eyes

HAMMER - weapon
a comically large hammer with spikes wrapped around the rim of each face. unsurprisingly, its heavy as hell. its decorated with a dark red bow on the base of the handle. its head & grip are an off white color, while the handle & edges of the head are a lighter red and the spikes are a darker red.
SHAPE SHIFT - ability
has the ability to change into pretty much anything they want, given they have an understanding of its anatomy. they can't change the color of their fur, but they can change the color of their eyes and markings
STRENGTH - skill
has an almost inhuman amount of strength, yet little muscle on their body to justify it. they couldn't pick up a building but they could very well pick up a car with both their hands. it comes in handy

// Personality.
shadow loves being a complete insufferable asshole. they giggle at peoples shortcomings, nitpick at peoples arguments, and make snarky remarks at every opportunity they have just to get a rise out of people. they find people to be great sources of entertainment, especially when they're pissed off, and are not above causing universal chaos if it means they get that short boost of dopamine. thats not to say they're above anger itself or have a good composure, they love some good banter but if you push it too far theyre gonna get real pissed off real quickly.
people like to assume theyre stupid due to their immaturity, and i mean... they arent entirely wrong, but that isnt something they'd ever admit themself. they have a decent head on their shoulders, but not nearly enough patience or impulse control to make good use of it. instead they love to throw caution to the wind and see where their stupid decisions take them, and more often than not they're able to slip away from consequence thanks to their immesurable strength. they can be threatening when need be, and they will absolutely abuse that power if they find themself in trouble.
but despite everything, despite their insistence on being the bane of everyones existence, they do genuinely care about people. they dont care enough to care about their feelings, but like, if someone was in danger of any kind they would drop everything just to save their ass. their lack of self-preservation was already evident in their impulsive behavior, but it becomes a whole 'nother bag of worms when other people are thrown into the mix. even though they love to parade around the idea that nothing in life matters and death is inevitable, they don't particularly like the idea of peoples lives being cut short for no real reason.
aside from their need for entertainment, if you took the time to know them you'd be able to pick up pretty quickly that their need to be a jerk all of the time is also a side effect of their inability to trust people. they don't just "not care" about interpersonal relationships — they hate them. they hate the idea of being close with people and so they go out of their way to ward them off, to make themself seem irredeemable and incapable of love.
but in reality they are... incredibly capable of loving people, and they absolutely hate that. like, if you somehow got them to trust you and you made it clear that you trusted them in return, they'd become a lost puppy starved of affection and in need of constant warmth and hugs. they get /so/ clingy and so incredibly attached to anyone who manages to creep past their emotional walls its borderline embarrasing. thats not to say they'll do any of that in public, though. they still have some sense of dignity

- they absolutely adore video games though they seldom get to play them. they love atmospheric, story-rich games over everything else; forgetting about reality through fictional characters and stories is one of their favorite feelings in the world. also loves horror and fighting-style games. definitely a hollow knight fan
- polyglot. its one of their few hobbies. they know a good chunk of both earthly languages and alien languages. can and will insult you in a language you dont understand
- theyre incredibly sensitive to a lot of textures, especially human skin, and hates people touching them without their explicit permission
- they have terrible handwriting. just. the worst. especially their english handwriting. they look like ancient runes when theyre literally just letters
- they have a special interest in blacksmithing and will lose their mind if anyone brings it up. they designed their hammer and eryxs rapier themself
- they slow blink like a cat at the people they like
- my first oc can you tell... they were originally a fnaf oc, being a female version of shadow bonnie, but then i started using them as my scratch persona and everything went downhill from there. they've cycled through like 30+ redesigns and several story revamps. they were made around october or november of 2014, making them ~8 years old

ERYX CASTER - platonic soulmate
he's something of a lifelong partner to shadow, but not in any romantic way. they're like two sides of the same coin — both of them are dumbasses with huge egos, but aside from that they're opposites in every other way — so they butt heads often, but in the funny way where you know they care about each other a lot outside of their differences. they're an inseperable duo
shadow honest to god almost. admires him? and his incessant optimism? they hate saying it to his face but they really do appreciate him and the fact that hes stuck around this long. even though they do have to humble him frequently and hold him back from making questionable decisions, hes the only person shadow trusts, the only person they'll turn to in times of vulnerability, and is the only person they will willingly make phsyical contact with ever. they're bffs <3
