Personality

Adelaide, as a child, was far more rowdy and brash than she is now. After rigorous medical tests, corporal punishments, and the like, she's been left what she considers to be a shell of her former self. She's very quiet and softspoken, when she speaks at all, and tends to keep to herself. She's very self conscious of the changes that have been made to her, both in body and in mind. She struggles to conceptualize herself as person, nowadays, finding herself monstrous and dangerous due to the facility's constant dehumanization. Even still, though, she cares fiercely for those she manages to form close bonds with. Her heart is, and has always been, out on her sleeve. Despite being quiet, though, she's hardly one to keep her feelings to herself. She has a strong moral code and personal ethic, and finds lying or personal repression to be in violation of such things, even if it would put her in harms way. She would only ever lie to protect someone else, finding that more important than her own feelings.

PAST

Adelaide was born into a loud, bustling home, and had many siblings; likely more than her parents were suited to care for. Her household was very traditional and conservative, a mindset that Adelaide never truely believed in. She found herself feeling othered from the start, a middle child in every sense of the word, and was hardly paid any mind by her parents once she was old enough to dress herself. Her only solace was her older sister, Isadora, who she would spend much of her free time with. Until, that is, her parents decided to send her away, just shy of her fourteenth birthday. She wasn't told where, but she could make her assumptions. She was always very open to challenging her family's views, open about who she was and what she wanted to be. It wasn't her choice to make, and before she could argue, a bag was packed for her, and she was carted away. But of course, it wasn't what she had anticipated, nor was it even what her family had thought it was. A cruel and cold government facility, seemingly having no intentions of letting her leave.

PRESENT

Adelaide was used by the facility, with the intent of creating an obidient and replicable super-soldier, a flesh-and-blood weapon. Unfortunately, she was anything but. She didn't react well to the treatment, mentally or physically, and the facility considers her a failure. Unable to bring themselves to terminate her, despite believing her to be a mindless beast, she's left to rot in her solitary confinement, only given glimpses of other test subjects during designated mealtimes. During these times, though, she managed to meet and befriend Casket, a ghost. The two became fast friends, Adelaide being one of the only ones able to see and interact with Casket, and Casket able to offer Adelaide company in her solitude.
