Olivia

a mind born from scrap metal

age: physically only a few years, programmed to be in their 20's gender/pronouns: nonbinary, she/they
birthday: 9/27 romo/sexual orientation: repulsed aroace
occupation: student voice: monotone, robotic, androgynous. speaks fairly slowly.
species: robot alignment: true neutral

Appearance

olivia is a 4'7" tall humanoid robot. she's a lot bulkier than her height would imply due to being made of metal. their eyes have no sclera and are a dark blue, almost appearing black. their hair is made of thin wire filaments that lay mostly flat aside from a chunk on the left that has been permanently bent up. they don't have ears, but rather blocky headphone-like coverings where their ears would be. they have a pair of antenna sticking out of where their hair parts. olivia rarely smiles, instead often frowning or otherwise looking annoyed.

their body can be likened to a ball jointed doll's in terms of joints. they have a long seam running down the front of their body that opens up to access their insides for repairs and the like. their body is all in shades of blue, aside from the red light on their chest that can be used as a flashlight in a pinch. they have a slightly curvy figure, but a flat chest. she typically doesn't wear clothes as they are a pain with her body.

Personality

generally, people see olivia as an independent, anti-social, blunt kid. they don't care much for conversation, much less making friends with others, and spend most of their free time alone exploring the wilderness near monstrucatus. olivia distrusts most people on first impression, and doesn't care enough to see if that hunch is wrong. they are marginally softer towards people who have suffered at the hands of others, as that is what they lived through for the first years of their life.

despite being incredibly intelligent in terms of book smarts, olivia didn't learn many social skills during her time in the lab where she was born, and so chooses to shun interaction rather than muddle through it. when they do have to talk to others, they are exceedingly blunt, although some praise her for speaking her mind without fear. olivia doesn't intend to be cruel or honest when doing this; she just doesn't know how to say things with subtlety.

olivia has relatively high self esteem, believing themselves to be the pinnacle of AI technology combined with the flexibility of free will. they feel that humans are flawed because of their emotions, and see themselves as perfectly logical. because of this, they struggle with coming up with alternative ideas in the case of deviance from their plans. to olivia, things should be step-by-step, with little flexibility.

olivia rarely feels joy or sadness, although they are very familiar with anger and all its shades. it's kind of what they short-circuit to whenever they are in a situation they can't control. they have trouble with expressing their anger verbally, and so often resort to physical violence when their (unfortunately short) temper is provoked. they are very uncomfortable with being touched.

aside from anger, olivia takes most things in a detached, apathetic manner. she doesn't mind letting people vent to her, with the caveat that she won't (can't?) provide any advice or comfort beyond just listening. she is fearless, partially due to being a robot and being backed up on a server at the school frequently. she's not a risk-taker despite this, and thinks taking daredevil actions is absurd.

olivia has latched onto sarcasm as one of the few emotional intricacies she understands, and uses it liberally when she does speak to others. again, it's less out of her being intentionally mean and more so because it's one of the few communication quirks she understands.

Backstory

olivia is closed off about her time in the lab, the place she was "born" and where she lived the first years of her life. the only things she is willing to disclose is that she was the product of a project to give an AI free will, and that she has since cut off the scientists that made her. there are rumors that she single-handedly destroyed the lab as well as scared the scientists into submissions, but they are just rumors.

however she ended up at monstrucatus, she's living there now, having arrived a year after carrie and wright enrolled in the school. the research scientists at the school have mostly left her alone after a few altercations where olivia injured several of the technicians and threatened to leave the school entirely. monstrucatus then pressured her to interact with the general population of the school so they could at least indirectly study her instead of wasting resources trying to subdue her and enact a full out investigation. carrie was also trying to befriend her at the same time, and olivia grudgingly accepted carrie's friendship. unfortunately for olivia, carrie is just as annoying as her initial impression. they tolerated wright enough to not cut off carrie and wright completely at least.

later on, olivia met kitty through carrie and bonded with them surprisingly quickly over similar life experiences. also through carrie, olivia met emerson and became a sort of friend to him as well. olivia met di a few months after meeting carrie and they bonded over their mutual dislike of james and carrie.

Extra

is talented in a variety of combat/support skills but excels at none of them. she would describe herself as being suited for exploration has a lower agility due to their weight, but high physical strength and endurance
likes playing fps games on solo mode and watching horror movies with di and emerson dislikes hospitals, scientific equipment, and anything in general that reminds them of the lab
has a strange soft spot for rabbits/rabbit themed people cannot eat
"sleeps" by recharging themselves nightly can do small repair/maintenance things on herself by herself
collects small bits of material that are new sensations to her (cotton fluff, crunchy leaves, etc.) and will discard them after they are no longer new they have a certain sense of wanderlust which leads to them often going out and exploring the outdoors, much to the distress of the school's administration when olivia can't be found
listens to chiptune music and dubstep

Important Relationships

carrie greene

carrie and olivia are friends...? it's unknown to even olivia why she sticks with carrie, when the ghost annoys her on a regular basis, but nonetheless olivia lets herself be dragged along on carrie's adventures. perhaps it's because if she wasn't friends with carrie, she would be pressured to befriend someone else. rather the devil you know than the one you don't. besides this, olivia at least respects carrie for putting her all into her work... at least the work in her fighting classes.

wright moore

olivia and wright are friends. wright is the reason that olivia sticks around carrie, honestly. she appreciates that he is book-smart like her and actually genuinely enjoys talking to him about whatever scientific paper or article he has read lately. olivia does feel that wright is weak, and wishes he would put more effort into toughing up instead of just only strengthening his mind.

divinia pavoni

di and olivia are friends. the two bonded after olivia almost broke james's arm when he hit on her. di was impressed. olivia mostly takes di's comments about murder to be a joke, not believing that di is actually capable of hurting someone. the two of them often watch horror movies together, and gossip about people in school they don't like. or at least di complains to olivia about those students a lot.
