Wright Moore

careful, you're only human

age:  22 gender/pronouns:  guy, he/him
birthday: 4/4 romo/sexual orientation:  ambiguously straight (eventually comes out as bi)
occupation:  student voice:  this (pls excuse the markiplier)
species:  human alignment:  lawful good

Appearance

wright is a 5’6” tall guy with a slightly pear shaped body and little muscle. he has green, downturned eyes with thick eyelashes. he has pale skin and blushes easily. his red hair is thick and fluffy, and almost always kept in a ponytail. out of a ponytail it reaches just past his shoulders. he wears glasses at all times.

his clothing consists of mainly button up shirts and jeans. he also has a navy duffle jacket that he wears when it's cold. he has a few graphic tees with math/science jokes on them that are gifts from carrie. he likes clothes that are shades of red or dark blue, and anything cat-themed.

Personality

wright wants to be a hero, or at least be a support for one. he looks up to archetypal hero characters in media. he wishes he could be strong enough to take more of a leader role, but the truth is he feels uncomfortable in the spotlight and would prefer to carry out orders instead of give them. he has a very strong sense of right and wrong and can only be convinced to do something against his morals if he knows it’s for the greater good. he doesn’t have the confidence to call out his friends (read: carrie) for doing bad things but he has some comfort in knowing that at least he’s doing his best.

wright is organized and can’t stand having to work in a messy space. he’s good at planning ahead, but unable to make decisions if things go off track. he can come off as inflexible because of his need for a schedule. he’s good at critiquing other people’s plans.

he’s fairly submissive and avoids conflict as much as he can. he’s shy around strangers, usually relying on someone else to break the ice. he’s good at working in teams though once he gets past the initial meeting. he’s able to keep his cool in stressful situations, at least when he’s on his own. having other people rely on him stresses him out. he’s easily embarrassed by other people’s actions (read: carrie). at least when he’s alone, he can run through the situation multiple times in his head and come up with solutions to any outcome, but he’s bad at predicting others.

he feels the need to always be productive and so will burn himself out if someone else doesn’t drag him out of his work. most of his free time is spent working on personal projects instead of relaxing. he doesn’t know when to pull himself back to conserve his energy. he’s altruistic to a fault, and is willing to sacrifice his own personal comfort for the sake of others.

Backstory

wright had an uneventful childhood, taking classes in regular schools up through the middle of high school. unknown to him, his parents were monster hunters. they kept their job secret from him because they wanted to protect him, and explained their long hours away from home with a long commute and frequent business trips. since wright was at home alone a lot in the evenings, he picked up cooking as a hobby fairly early on. he learned how to do other housework chores as well to be self-sufficient on weekends his parents were gone.

before carrie’s death, he barely knew them, seeing them only in passing in the halls. when carrie died, he was the only one who could see her in the day following her death. since she was so distraught, he brought her to his house in hopes of being to help her somehow. his parents came home and freaked out when they saw a ghost in their house, but wright was able to diffuse the situation before his parents attacked carrie. since wright was seeing monsters, his parents realized they could no longer keep their job a secret, and so explained everything about monsters and monster hunters to wright and carrie. the pair then transferred to monstrucatus in the middle of the school year to start their education as monster hunters.

later on when carrie befriended olivia (sort of…) wright just came along as a package deal and olivia ended up sticking around for him.

Important Relationships

carrie greene

wright is carrie’s closest friend. he still feels pity for her for what she went through when she died, and because he is one of the only people who knows, he sticks by her. he tolerates her teasing since he knows they don’t actually mean it, and on a similar note pushes past their obnoxiousness since he knows at heart carrie means well. he has a vague sense of how attached carrie is to him, but doesn’t know the full extent. he admires their loyalty to their friends and appreciates her being able to protect him in combat.

olivia

olivia is wright’s second closest friend. he thinks that they can be too brusque and apathetic, but appreciates that they are willing to speak their mind. he wishes they would be more open to socializing but knows that everyone has their boundaries. he enjoys the times that olivia is open to conversation and he can talk about whatever scientific article or paper he’s seen recently. he likes that olivia is intelligent and logical like him, although sometimes he does feel a little below her.

emerson holt

wright and emerson are friends. wright admires emerson for being a lot stronger than he is, and for taking on this quest to hunt down demons, even if it’s not entirely by choice. he’s here to support emerson however he can, and likes to take care of him by making meals when emerson visits. wright just doesn’t understand why emerson seems uneasy around him…
