Ryouko grew up until the age of 5 with her sister, Mariko. They were then separated to begin training in different areas. Mariko was left at the Yukino residence to study and train her spiritual abilities, and Ryouko left at her Sensei's school to begin training to protect the village. Until the age of 15, both girls and their little sister did not spend much time together, and would sometimes find a way to sneak off to visit each other if given the chance. After Ryouko graduated (age 15) and left the village under unknown circumstances, Mariko and Benny set out to find her and explore the world.

Ryouko's personality is a bit unknown to herself. At an early age, she was trained to mask her feelings and only follow rules and obey orders. Her life was planned out for her for as long as she can remember, but now that she has been thrust into a world that she does not know of, Outside of the Village, she doesn't know what to do or how to live her life. Her desires and emotions are unknown, even to herself, and since meeting Hiroto Outside of the Village, she has to learn to communicate with others and think for herself. She means well, but can come off as cold due to her direct approach and social awkwardness. She doesn't know how to read the atmosphere of a room and tends to get confused when people get upset. Fortunately, Hiroto is helping her find ways to express her emotions in constructive or postiive ways. She only trusts those that are closest to her and is determined to protect them from harm.

Ryouko is outwardly a calm person, but can get annoyed easily. Since leaving the Village, she has found that she likes to wear dresses and skirts, and likes to learn how to design them for her own outfits.

Her Element is Ice and her Talent is Illusions. She has a firm grasp on her ice magic, but is still always working to improve upon her illusion Talent, since there are many ways it can't work. Illusions have no sound, they only occur an area of space. She cannot create an illusion if she can't see where it is. She has to control every part of the illusion, and that can take up a lot of concentration.
