Pyralis (cs. Elnin)

A scholar with paws-on experience with most of the weirdness that Eyre has to offer, Pyralis has never been one to turn down an adventure. With his big personality and bold smile, he has the tendency to light up the room when he walks in (sometimes literally, with the glowing sunset-like mark on his chest.) He's more daring than prudent, a quality that often leads to everyone around him shouting in exasperation as he does something risky for very little reward. As if he couldn't possibly imagine a world with consequences, Pyralis stumbles his way into and out of danger regularly, and trusts even the shadiest of strangers. He has a penchant for grand gestures of affection, even when it is perhaps unwarranted.

Although he's technically a professor at one of Il'Durahn's most prestigious magical colleges, Pyralis is almost constantly away on "research trips." He does sometimes have to stay and teach for a full year in order to keep his funding, but he is usually away (and probably studying something dangerous) when he can be. That's not to say he's a bad teacher- he's great at connecting with students and is usually well-liked, but it's unlikely anyone will have him as their professor two years in a row due to his tendency to be absent.
