DESCRIPTION
Misaki is in her early twenties and of Canthan descent, with a petite, fine-boned build. Her hair is very straight and black, and comes to halfway down her back when let down, but she usually keeps it in twin buns held in place by ribbons. She has dark brown, almond-shaped eyes and delicate features, with a pointed chin and rosebud lips. She favors Canthan fashion, and usually wears a red and black short-sleeved qipao (example or similar) that comes to just above her knees. She is also partial to courtly apparel and robes, usually in shades of red, black and gold that complement her golden-pale skin. Her weapon of choice is a staff which stands taller than she does.
As an Academe graduate, her battle technique involves finding a safe position and raining hell upon her opponents from a distance. While not a professional healer, Misaki is able to heal injuries to a passable level, and is capable of acting as a field medic to stabilize injured allies.
PERSONALITY
Misaki is very prim and proper, often looking down her nose at people who fail to display appropriate etiquette. She is rather uptight by most standards. While she is adept in the court and in politics, she struggles to loosen up in more informal company, and is easily flustered by crude jokes and coarse language.
Presentation of self is of utmost importance to her, and her elaborate grooming reflects that. She is very disciplined and holds herself to a high standard - Planning things meticulously is how she gets through most of her days, though she does get thrown if things don't go as planned.

- TEA: Misaki is quite the tea connoisseur, and enjoys visiting cafes and trying new brews. She owns several teapots and a wide variety of tea leaves.
- READING: Tomes on arcane history, methodology and research are particular favourites. She also indulges in the occasional romance novel.
- CALLIGRAPHY: When she has the free time, Misaki practices traditional Canthan calligraphy (example), using brushes and ink. Occasionally she experiments with calligraphy art (example)
- PLANNING: Misaki plans. Obsessively. She prefers to be informed of happenings ahead of time so she can come up with strategies and contingency plans.
- GROOMING: Being very particular about her personal grooming and self-presentation, Misaki has a nervous tic of smoothing her hair down when she feels stressed or pressured.

- STRENGTH: Broad knowledge of various spells obtained from her reading, and proficient in using most of them. If there's a spell for something, Misaki knows of it and has most likely mastered it.
- STRENGTH: Incredible elemental firepower - she is capable of causing widespread destruction. Her preferred element is fire.
- STRENGTH: Having been raised in court, Misaki is well-versed in courtly etiquette, Krytan law and politics. She is fairly proficient at negotiations and does well at charming the older Lords into doing what she wants.
- WEAKNESS: Overall physical fitness and skill in hand-to-hand combat is meagre at best. Tires easily following physical exertion.
- WEAKNESS: Very by-the-book and fairly predictable at the best of times - fares poorly against opponents who are experienced in fighting elementalists.
- WEAKNESS: Her raw elemental power and overall control over her magic is greatly reduced if her staff is not in hand. She also relies on her hands for most of her glyphs, which makes her vulnerable to prediction, and she would be effectively crippled if she loses the use of her hands, either via injury or incarceration.
- HEALING: While not a professional healer, Misaki is able to heal injuries to a passable level, and is capable of acting as a field medic to stabilize allies when the situation calls for it.
- SUMMONING: Being of Canthan descent, her House has a summoning contract with a Canthan dragon, and she is able to direct it using her staff in sweeping motions. She is also able to summon Hounds of Balthazar to aid in battle, in addition to fire, ice, air and earth elementals.
- STRATEGY: Very good at strategizing and planning ahead if given a sufficient amount of time and information beforehand.
- Misaki is a Japanese-inspired name, but her overall design is Chinese.
- The way she directs her dragon is inspired by the Chinese Dragon Dance (video), where the dragon chases its "pearl" around in order to swallow and reclaim its power.
- Despite being born and raised in Kryta, Misaki is still able to speak in Canthan. She speaks her native tongue with family.
Misaki's family ancestry originates from Cantha, the Yuino house having branched out into Kryta several generations ago. Misaki enrolled in the Krytan Academe of Magic as a child and quickly rose through the ranks, eventually graduating at the top of her class. In recognition of her ability, she was offered the position of ambassador for the Krytan Magician's Guild. Most of her regular work involves liaising with external contacts and foreign guilds, and she only enters the field in the rare occasion that her heavy firepower is required.

ERIK MAELSTROM
Misaki met Erik for the first time at the behest of the Krytan Magician's Guild, and was charged with recruiting him on account of his unconventional skills as an elementalist. Being polar opposites, they each found the other fascinating, and began spending time together on missions when Erik volunteered to assist her.
Their relationship developed as a gradual, slow burn, peppered with countless fights and arguments due to their very different ideologies and methods. The making up is usually passionate, with the heat and intensity of a supernova. Learning to work together on the field was a challenge in its own right, but eventually they learned how to complement each other and became an incredible power couple.
