Profile

"If you’re gonna be on my ass, at least give it a kiss while you’re down there."

Career/Occupation: Floyd struggles to maintain her occupations for extended periods of time. While she currently works an evening shift waiting tables at her local Waffle House, her past jobs have included but aren’t limited to; a Dollar Store cashier, a school custodian, a dishwasher at Chili’s, a pizza delivery girl, and a golf caddy. She even plays guitar for a local punk band. Though Floyd will most likely never obtain the means to attend a university, she often talks about getting her Bachelor’s in Theology for some reason.

Personality: Floyd is a ‘fun’ girl, and she likes it that way. She spends her days on the prowl for new experiences to have, new places to see and new people to meet. Her strong, heady personality tends to naturally attract the good times she seeks and startle just about everybody else around her. Massive parties, hitchhiking, raves, alleyway hookups, benders, you name it; Floyd has participated for the sake of the thrill and a story to tell. So often, in fact, her thrill-seeking impulsiveness has cost her many jobs in the past and has almost put her out on the street. Regardless, she is beloved by her fellow party people for her striking charisma and nonchalant disposition. “It’s no big deal,” is her mantra. Most of the local clubs and venues know her by name, and she’s the type of person to bump into at least one acquaintance every time she leaves her apartment. Outside of her personal scene, most other people find her to be grating and immature. Not that Floyd cares…or does she? Unfortunately, her fun, dream girl persona is starting to wear her down. She’s tired, and her habits are taxing her wallet. She can’t afford to go out and ham it up like she wants to. But Floyd worries that if her life goes quiet for even a moment, she’ll be forced to reckon with the pain she’s been drowning out for all these years.

Appearance: Floyd’s outgoing character makes looks larger from afar, but all that fire is compressed into a 5-foot stature. She walks with relaxed confidence, her eyes always wandering to lock with the strangers on the street. Her facial features are soft and sensual, with a crinkly, pink button nose, two ambery doe-eyes, and a heart-shaped face peppered with pale freckles. She possesses various animated facial expressions and waves her hands about when she talks. She wears a slim black ring in her septum that she often fiddles with when being spoken to. Floyd maintains her own fluffy head of hair, keeping it cut at her ears with a crest of shaggy bangs, and always sporting a two-tone dye job (right now, her favorite is red with some black accents) Just like everything else about her, Floyd’s sense of style is constantly fluctuating. She loves cami dresses with knee socks as much as khaki shorts with sneakers, but you could just as easily catch her wearing studded colors and black platforms, overalls and tees, or a sweater with corduroy pants. Regardless of what she is wearing, Floyd will find one way or another to flaunt her slender figure, peacocking her precious tattoos and feminine assets. She is very aware that people find her attractive and thrives off the attention, though she tries to play it off as a bother. Her mannerisms are often crude and boyish (and a little juvenile) but people find her approachable and warm anyway.

Sexuality/Love Life: Floyd likes to have a lot of friends, but she likes to have a few partners on call, too. Since she isn’t a fan of the one-night stand, she keeps at least two to three lover boys at a time, dropping them as soon as she’s ready to add a new man into her rotation. Five out of seven nights a week she’ll find herself warming her bed with one of her dates, and tends to get frustrated if somehow none of her lovers can spend the night with her. Sure, hookups are an extension of a night’s dizzy thrill, but sometimes just the company is nice. Despite her long sexual history, Floyd has only been in a couple of committed relationships. In her mind, no sex is worth the humiliation of getting dumped, so she prefers to get her milk without buying any cows. A second factor to her relationship status, however...Floyd has found that she is extremely romantically attracted to other women, more so than men, and is prone to become attached to women quicker especially under intimate pretenses. Because of this, she chooses to keep women out of her hookup rotation, and men out of her dating pool. It is this structure, Floyd believes, that keeps her from ever experiencing the sting of rejection or the embarrassment of a failed relationship. But deep within these self-imposed rules, Floyd quietly hopes that one day she’ll meet someone strong, who can calmly hold her down and give her a sense of stability; someone who won’t leave.

Family: As a child growing up in foster care, Floyd often scrambled to connect with other people and build a found-family of her own. But as with most things, the harder she pushed for a connection, the more people pulled away from her. This lonely frustration built inside the young Floyd and began to manifest in her actions. She began to start fights, act out in class, and fall behind with her grades. Floyd’s poor behavior in school and negative interactions with her foster siblings caused her to relocate homes almost on a yearly basis, further distancing herself from others. Floyd remembers packing up all of her belongings in a single black trash bag before being escorted to her new house, while another foster girl walked out the same door with a brand-new suitcase and a pair of brand-new parents. After just barely scraping through high school, Floyd left to backpack across the United States in search of what she called “her spot.” The backpacking didn’t last long, as Floyd quickly ran out of money and was forced to settle down in a city in Anywhere, USA. With a combination of odd jobs and fucking her landlord once a month, Floyd managed to obtain her apartment, space she cherishes as she feels as though it is her very first, very own home. Now, at 24 years of age, Floyd tends to find a fleeting sense of belonging on the party scene, munching MDMA and smoking pot with her party buddies. Being a fun girl keeps her surrounded by people who like her, even if their friendship is surface level or ingenuine. Yet, even with all the excitement, she still finds herself feeling lost at the end of the day. She could, perhaps, reach out to her biological parents, but for some reason, even unbeknownst to her, Floyd would rather it remain a mystery.
