Kane was born the third of seven sons, and while his family isn't poor, they do have a lot of mouths to feed. Even with the eldest Blackwoods working, it was still a struggle to support their large family. To help ease their parents' burden, Kane began working as soon as he could. He obtained his merchant license at 12, and his blacksmith license at 18. Kane and his eldest brother, Roy, assisted their father on construction jobs. After a few years of doing this, Kane decided to follow his older brother, Jacob, and leave home in search of a better job. This landed him in Prontera at 23. He managed to land a job at the Knights Guild in their blacksmith shop. While it did earn more money than jobs back in Morroc, it wasn't quite enough for him to support himself and send money home.

It just so happened that a friend of a friend was also struggling with housing. Kane didn't hesitate to accept living with a roommate. This greatly eased his own financial burden, allowing him to feel more secure staying in the capitol. At the knights guild, he mostly does grunt work, such as running errends. He says he is ok with this, but there is a part of him that wants to actually get his hands on some gear. An opportunity comes to him when he gets connected to the Echelon guild, who allowed him to work repairs on gear they simply cannot keep up with. He spends much of his free time in their blacksmith shop, getting as much experience as he can while he can.

Eventually, Kane gets a chance to show off his skills at work, and receives a promotion. With his promotion, he's able to move into his own place that is closer to the Knights Guild. Currently, he has been on his own for several months, and continues to send money back home to his family, visiting when he can. He continues his work at the Knights Guild, satisfied enough, but wanting something more. Seeing as he's comfortable with things as they are, he chooses to sit back, enjoy the ride called life, and wait for the right opportunity to come his way. The universe has a way of working things out.

• He enjoys doing DIY projects. When he still lived in Morroc, he often helped Roy and their dad on construction jobs. Now he enjoys doing home improvement projects and building furniture.
• He specializes in doing repairs over forging. While not the most meticulous, he is quite efficient. Working at the knights' guild, being efficient is a must. He does aim for things to be more than just functional.
• He has several piercings; one on his right eyebrow, a tongue piercing, 3 studs on both ears, an industrial bar on his right ear, a double helix on his left ear, and a Prince Albert piercing. He also has a gemini constellation tattoo on his right forearm.
• Though he is not a scholar by any means, he does enjoy reading, particularly history and astrology books. He loves talking about both subjects, getting quite passionate once he gets going. He likes sitting on the roof of his apartment to looks for the constellations from his books.
• Most of his clothes are worn out work clothes. He owns one pair of nice jeans he busts out for special occassions, such as dates. They make his butt look very nice.
