Dawn of the Fire is the Admiral of the Clan of Fire. She was brought up beside Dusk of the Water, who was to be the Water clans ambassador, so the two of them were always kept together as children, as they would be destined to work together as adults. Dawns fiery and bold personality clashed with the meek and mild Dusk's, and she grew up hating her counterpart and bullied him often. Eventually, she hurt him badly and the two were separated for many years, to be reunited as adults.
Dawn was harshly punished for her actions, and grew to be a harsh and brutish warrior. When she was to attend her continued education, she discovered she was to do it alongside Dusk, who she didn't recognize at first because he had come out as a trans man and transitioned in the time they'd been apart. The two had to learn to live and work together, and Dusk was no longer the meek child he once was. He had become a bold, collected, composed, and very intelligent. He forgave Dawn, as they were both small children when it happened, but she was PISSED he was being the bigger person when she was already so harshly punished for her actions, and there was animosity between the two for quite some time.
Eventually, Dusk was fed up and challenged Dawn to a fight. He was extremely physically outclassed and lost, but his tenacity and resourcefulness during the fight gave Dawn a run for her money and earned her respect. She apologized and agreed to work together, and their begrudging truce blossomed into friendship and eventually romantic feelings.
When the Dragon War happened and the Clan of Wind was nearly wiped out, as well as many leading members of the clans of fire and water AND the ritual pact with their guardian spirit is broken, the two must lead in banding their clans together to escape their home and establish a new community in a new home, while escaping the spirit and the dragons.
