Lainia is a young trans woman whose been struggling with intense anxiety since coming out. Growing up, she was never masculine, and was used to being called gay and much meaner words. Since coming out, she fears the increased mistreatment she's faced, and even when people are kind to her she worries they're trying to take advantage of her.
In college, she was paired with Ran for tutoring, and his pleasant attitude and calm demeanor made her feel very safe. He noticed how nervous she was around most people, and started hanging out with her to protect her and keep her calm, and they caught feelings for each other, and moved into the same dorm the next semester.
