Leviathan is the former heir to The Church of The Leviathan. They were raised to believe they were a race of superior being, whose destiny was to outgrow and consume the planet. The Church's real purpose was not the existence of a deity, but simply the hunger of Leviathan's family for endless amounts of human flesh. They recruit and convert large groups of people, and lead them out to see to be hunted for sport and consumed, as the true forms of the Lysander family are enormous sea serpents.
Leviathan has grown to detest the cult-like practices of the Church. They have lead it for hundreds of years at the will of their parents, and were severely punished when they proclaimed they no longer wanted to be involved. They grow attached to humans and fae easily, and can no longer see them as food or playthings, but they were forced to continue in their position, as they did not have the power to leave their parents control.
When Levi met Ebott, Ebott offered them an out. They took Levi far away from their family to protect them, but as the Church continues to commit mass murder, the two have begun to follow it around and try to kill Levi's brother and parents, before they kill them first.
