Just like Lost, due to being born an alicorn he was taken from his parents by royal alicorns and raised by them in a castle on top of a mountain, on which was a village on the lower level. But unlike his best friend, he never really liked learning. Sure, he wanted to become stronger and know how to use his magic, but he hated reading books and refused to study this way. He also hated how pushy the older alicorns were with the teachings and never fully trusted them. Instead of studying books he preferred getting into trouble and doing a bit of tomfoolery. Lost always tried to convince him to act better and to get to studying, Erebus listened to him more often then to the elder alicorns. After becoming an adult, the alicorns assigned him to look after the night sky after the sun sets. After he and Lost got their "jobs", the alicorns disappeared one night, leaving them in the castle on their own.

Alongside Constellation, they keep an eye out on the people living in the village. At first he didn't really enjoy his "job" and found it boring but he grew to appreciate it and started liking it, realizing it's a great way to relax. Still lives with Lost in the castle, but he leaves it more than he does. He often tries to take him outside with him.
