The second-in-command of the Saltwater Gangsters is Daxter, a dog with a reputation for his master archery and cold demeanor. He keeps his distance from other people and prefers to spend his time alone, trying to smoke away his sorrows. Due to past events, Daxter has become very closed-off from others and it's hard for him to open up, but he doesn't want to admit that he secretly desires company. He is mostly respected within the Gang, although this is more out of fear and some pity. Daxter is a skilled fighter that puts his all into his tasks, especially if he's payed handsomely, and isn't one to flee from confrontation. He's also incredibly loyal to the Gang and doesn't take well to any sort of treachery. But above all, he has an incredible fondness for the ocean and spends his time at the seaside, hoping the waves can wash everything away.

You can't really get Daxter to talk about his past, as he hates discussing such personal things. A safe assumption to make, however, is that he spent most of his life in the Saltwater Gang. Daxter was way more open and overall cheerful in the past, keeping close with his childhood friends Abner, Sniper, and Romeo, and was even closer to another member he introduced to the Gang. However, this member left the Gang suddenly, which broke Daxter's heart and turned him into the reclusive individual he is today. The added pressure of being promoted to second-in-command of the Gang has only made him more stressed and tired. Things aren't going to get any smoother from here on out, either.
