Daisy finds joy in breaking the law and screaming into her mic, but she's also a huge softie and very cuddly. She has an incredible memory and a natural talent for picking up small details.

Daisy grew up like any other octoling her age, going through the same training and the same military procedures, but she paid close attention to rumors of the surface. She desperately wished such a place was real- so much that she risked a discharge from her position as an Elite Octoling by removing her shades in secret and as often as she could. She often left her position to hide away from her coworkers and relax, without the effects of the brainwashing.

The day that changed her life started like any other- she clocked in for the day and began to patrol her assigned area when she saw a flash of motion. After following it for a while and realizing she couldn't see anyone, the octoling relaxed, and dropped into the nearest grate. All of her relief vanished as she opened her eyes and saw Agent Four hanging onto the grate not two feet in front of her. Before she could lash out, a Baller special inflated, trapping them both, and the agent began to sing the Calamari Inkantation. Whatever residual brainwashing Daisy had left washed away as she took off her glasses for the last time.

After resurfacing in Octo Canyon (and almost meeting the business end of Marie's charger), the octoling was dubbed Agent 5, and began to live in Tentakeel Outpost with the agents. She learned Inkling and taught Octarian over the next few months, harboring a crush on Sunny, but never having the guts to actually confess to her. When she felt she was fluent enough in Inkling, she decided she was ready to leave for Inkopolis. Upon hearing Sunny's rushed love confession, she turned back for a moment to kiss her and reassure her that they'd meet again, before dropping through the drain to the city.

Daisy took up a part-time job at Crusty Sean's to make a living as she began to integrate into Inkopolis society and make friends. Her first friend on the surface- Julian- was one of her coworkers, who sympathized with her story of escaping to the surface and shared her music taste. He introduced her to Frasier, his friend through high school orchestra, and they saved up money together in the hopes of recording an album together. Not long after that, the trio met their percussionist, Marian, working a booth for her friend at a local convention.

Their band was picking up attention in corners of Inkopolis when Daisy reconnected with Sunny. It was purely by chance- she had been hanging out with her band when she thought she heard someone following her, and turned around to find the very inkling who had rescued her in Octo Canyon. After re-introducing herself and her friends, Daisy exchanged numbers with Sunny, along with a few tickets to their next concert.

• Her last name, Gōban, is a throwaway name she made up on the spot to fill out paperwork with.
