Aster was adopted as a small child into a noble family as a publicity stunt. "Look at how kind we are taking in this unwanted child aren't we the best?"
She was provided for well, and had many resources at her disposal, but to her family she was just a trophy. Something to show off and then tuck away once company has left. Aster has always had a problem with authority, and tends to have a poor sense of self-preservation. She had a bad habit of running off and getting into trouble. One such occasion resulted in the noticeable scars across her nose.
That was the last straw for her adoptive parents, who hired a half-orc bodyguard by the name of Davramos to keep her out of trouble. Dav became Asters only and closest friend for many years. When Dav was called back to arms and had to leave Aster's side, they made a pinkie promise that Dav would always have Aster's back no matter what. Secretly, Aster also promised to herself that she would have Dav's back as well. Dav's absence made Aster realize exactly how defenseless she was. In a desperation for power and the means to escape her family, Aster makes a pact with the Raven Queen and becomes a Warlock. She resents having to answer to anyone, and plans to overthrow the Raven Queen once she has enough power.
