About

From a young age Franky wanted a career in music. He'd first started playing drums in 4th grade, but soon abandoned drums for guitar and vocals, which he decided he was better at anyways. By high school he'd already been in three bands, all of which died horrible deaths from lack of inspiration. After his third and final high school band broke up he vowed to himself that the next project he put together would not die, not even if he did, and he was right.

That band was Acidata. He'd named the band after a specific type moth he'd seen in an Entemology book his friend Edward had shown him in his junior year. The first member of Acidata beside Franky himself was a boy named Carlisle-James Murphy, or CJ for short. They'd met freshman year and immediately hit it off. Franky had a huge crush on CJ and wanted his newest band to impress him enough to make him want to join. CJ was very reserved and when the band started up and he decided to join, he decided on the stage name KT to keep his identity and face obscured to their fans. Franky was dead-set on vocals and guitar, but taught KT how to play drums so he could participate in their jam sessions.

It was just them 'till senior year when Franky met Luka Evans, a bona fide guitar legend in the sophmore class. They stayed in constant contact after KT and Franky graduated, and he joined the band in the summer of 1983. After that the three of them took that year to get themselves together. After a night of partying on KT's birthday (October 30th) they got the bright idea to theme the band after zombies, the thing they had all dressed up as that year for the holiday.

After they were all officially graduates Frankie sunk all the money he had saved from various high school jobs into having the band succeed, and that it did! Their band would go up on stage in full bodied makeup to make themselves look dead, and it seemed to catch on quickly. In 1991, the band put out a flier looking for another guitarist to lighten the load off of Luka and Franky, who had been taking turns playing the synth they had recently added to their live shows. Franky could handle one of the other, but certainly not both synth, guitar, AND singing. A lot of people applied, but the one that seemed to stick out the most was 18 year-old Waylon Ward, who came to the audition decked out in what he called "my on-stage outfit" which consisted of a unique zombie makeup look and custom-looking clothes tattered and marked up with pen and paint. His guitar work was impressive to say the least. Luka voted to call him back immediately after he left. In the months following Waylon's addition to the band, he strained his hand during a performance and had to let it rest for a couple weeks. Again without someone to balance tasks on, Waylon snuck his older brother Solomon into a practice, promising he could take over synth so Franky could hop back on guitar. Everyone was put off by Sol's serious energy at first, but slowly grew to appreciate the suggestions and edits he would make to their songs to make the synth and other instruments cleaner in the mixes. When it came time for Way to play again, it was decided Way would be their bass player, replacing Luka, who took on lead guitar and pushed rhythm guitar to Franky. That setup from then on would blast them even farther into stardom, doing their first US tour in 1992, and then again 1994.

It was not until late 1999 that they were able to do a full world tour, but tragedy struck in early 2000 when the tour bus they and Midge were occupying sweved off course and was hit repeatedly by passing cars, killing Luka, Franky, Sol, and Way. All members of Midge as well as KT survived, but the guilt of the tragedy soon weighed too heavy on the survivors and Midge disbanded, forever changing the course of both bands. Franky, on earth 2 now, still mourns the loss of his love just as KT does from the overworld. Way took over drumming for ACIDATA as best as he could on earth2 for the small amount of shows they still play from time to time.

"honestly, factually speaking, our band name is lame as hell but CJ loves it."
