"I played for a while in the theater and really enjoyed it. At one point we lost our female lead and because I could easily change my form I ended up playing all those parts. It came natural to me so when the visions and dreams started calling to me it just made sense that this was who I meant to be."

Visually, Crystal's 'fighting style' is a mix between Elsa (they use a lot of ice spells) mixed with Sailor Moon. They use a lot of spells to boost their party members and help them out as well as 'Sparkle blast' (eldritch blast with a fay flavor) in times of trouble. They would prefer not to hurt others, even monsters, though when their past self takes over she has done some serious damage. As a Dunamancy mage their specialty is gravity based spells because Crystal wanted to learn how to fly.

Personality: At the beginning of the campaign, Crystal is much like Tahani from The Good Place.  She believes that self worth comes from helping others to a fault and that is how she tries to make friends at first. The character she shows the world is much like a Disney Princess; perfect and poised, clean and kind, a friend to all. She finds the idea of violence an abhorrence and tried to convince the group to find other ways to solve the conflicts that come their way. At first her past self scares her because of the dichotomy of her own personal beliefs and the person she once was. As time goes on and her past self cracks through more and more, jumping into the fray and finding out she is quite good at dealing damage herself, Crystal has a bit of a quandary. She can provide much more help as a full, active member of the group, but this means giving into her more devastating spells instead of her supportive ones. This comes to ahead when Ash is taken over by a demon and tries to make the tabaxi do something against her will. Crystal snaps and stands up for her friend, dealing the final blow that pushes him into the trap the group had set out for him. After some heartfelt conversation with Morvryn she realized that accepting her past with grace is not a bad thing, for if she condemned her past as unforgivable, then half of the group she traveled with and adored was also unforgivable. After that she took the time to learn how to judge when a more assertive stance was appropriate than a passive one.

The Woven Threads:

Zesstra - A sharp tongued, tall drow from the Underdark. White silvery hair in a braid, dark skin with purple undertone, black eyes. She is devout to the Luxon but also looks to the Moonweaver for guidance. One of the oldest members at 100+ years, she often is looked upon as the leader of the group.
Shay - A shapechanger who can turn into a wolf. She is a human with auburn hair and piercing blue eyes. In her mid 20's, Shay is most often found surrounded by books and notes or on the side-lines. She is not very sociable and prefers the company of one or two people rather than a large group.
Morvryn - He doesn't remember much of his history as he awoke on the sands of the east shore of Xhorhas. Soft beautiful, pale features, covered in scars and wounds. White blond hair and piercing blue eyes. He is a fun-loving, gregarious individual even though his appearance can be a little off-putting on occasion. He is a cleric of both the Wildmother and the Whisperer.
Theodall - A follower of the MoonWeaver, the chosen deity of the Pallid elves, he is also one of the oldest of the group. He has pale white skin, and short white hair that refracts light with iridescent sheen. Theodall is an echo knight who looks after the kids when Woven Threads are off on adventures.
Brownstone - An eagle-like Arracokra with brown feathers and eyes. He is a sharp-shooter with a penchant for gambling and bad puns. A follower of the Wildmother, he prefers to spend his days and nights outside under the open sky. Because of the lifespan of Arracokra, Bwornstone is technically only seven years old.
Ash of Fire - One of the youngest members of the group, this trickster rogue is full of jokes and chaos. As a Tabaxi, she has smoky black fur, bright yellow eyes and a sunny disposition. Later on she finds talent in her performing skills and becomes a bard, becoming the soul of the group. Her BFF is Fluffy and they make an amazing team together.
Fluffy - The shortest member of Woven Threads with the largest heart, this halfling barbarian is one of the kindest, if blunt, of the group. She is the one to always be in the front protecting those behind her. She has curly red hair that is often braided out of the way, one lock of hair being white which changes colours when she uses her wild magic.
Thorne - A merry bard with draconic sorcery who's love of food is almost as equal to his love of Ash. They were together for a good portion of the campaign and are very supportive of each other.

Crystal met the Woven Threads when a beam of light pierced the shaded dome of Rhosana and illuminated Morvryn who was slated for execution for stealing from one of the Dens.  He was trying to get a book from there to help a man affected by an unusual 'time sickness' that seemed to affect people within the poorer section of the city. Crystal was tasked with finding information about Morvyrn by her Den Mother and befriended the whole group in the process. Another member (Fluffy) was looking for a Yansa, a mage who was kidnapping people, Fluffy being one of his targets.  Crystal pledged to help her new-found friend and helped bring the group together. At first some of the members thought Crystal was a little 'too good to be true' because she was always willing to help out and did not want payment in return. This suspicion increased when they found out Den Beltune may have ties with Yansa, meaning Crystal had to chose between staying loyal to her Den, and selling out the people who made her feel like herself, or try her luck with Woven Threads and loosing her chance to find out more about her past life. She picked the group and eventually they connected Yansa to the Time Sickness and found a way to defeat him for good.

Important moments -
*Making an alliance with, Drija in DarkDawn: (Dri-ga) Drija owns and operates a kind of 'hero's board' of sorts, dispatching party groups to where they might be useful and of great help to others who needs it. She also provides a safe house for people who otherwise might find trouble living in Rhosana.
*Meeting Jiv Cantar, leader of Midnight's Call: (Jiv Khan-taur) A bar and fighting pit with a 'speak-easy' hidden down below, Jiv is a high level enchanter of armor and weapons. Crystal ends up becoming his apprentice and designing her own magical fashions for high ranking clientele (which she also uses to hob-nob and keep an ear out for interesting events and gather information)
*Finding out Chandry is a changeling: (Shan-dree) Crystal spends most of her time wrapped in illusion so her visage matches who she is inside and it was uplifting to find someone who also did the same (and who was a loving and supportive adopted mother to so many)
*Patching things up with Donaar who initially was relaying information about her to their Den Mother and had alerted her that Crystal was not telling the whole truth in her reports. He had been her only/best friend within Den Beltune so initially his betrayal had cut her deep. She found out he had been doing so because he was worried about her anamnesis not working and that her time with Woven Threads would further prevent that. He came clean to her when he found out that the reason it didn't work was Den Beltune had implanted false memories so she would be tied to them instead of her actual Den, Duendalos.

Becoming fast friends with Fluffy and Ash, the trio decided their adventures were not over. The trio continued their work with DarkDawn, stretching their endeavors from the Menagerie Coast through Xhorhas. Using Crystal's connections with the upper class they have forged through their fashion design, they can gain access to many places. Ash sneaks in to make friends with the staff for more information gathering while Fluffy often plays the guard or 'hired help' and keeps Crystal safe from potential harm. Each has a role to play but also leans on each other when there are times of trouble. Fluffy often goes home to visit her parents in Gwarden where Crystal can also catch up with their patron, Mal'saria as there is a portal to the fae realm there. Ash gives them access to the seas with her family's mercantile ship so they can travel freely around the coast.

History:

*Was a High-Dragonborn (Crystal Morningstar) who came to Rosohana when shit went down
*Went up in the ranks because they were a storyteller thus contributed a lot to the information of the society
*Was consecuted  into House Beltune
*Died in one of the earliest raids of the Empire

*34 years ago she was reborn as an aasimar with a tie to Sehanine, goddess love (and trickery) outside the confines of the Dynasty
*Lived in Charis in a semi-normal family of a human father (retired adventurer) and a half drow / half dragonborne. Her assamar blood comes from her father's line.
*Her sisters are Sarynae and Kaitlynn, both older than her
*Born Aryndell Smyth they were expected to follow in their father's footsteps in his new craft of baker but Aryn wanted something more creative.

They decided to become a dancer because of their good looks and grace. Aryn ran off to join a traveling theater troupe in hopes to find something greater.
- Mercy is the leader of the theater troupe Crystal joined who uses that excuse to travel around but is actually a band of adventures.
In the troupe:
- A fancy dress-wearing barbarian noble lady (Tabaxi) think Natasha Romanoff - Slight russian accent
- A rough-and-tumble dwarven lady with ribbons in her braided beard (fighter)
- Dark skinned half-elf monk/bard who is good with juggling and acrobatics and bad with magic (Colleen) - Bit of a snarky attitude who likes to show off
- Human wizard (think an older Smedrik from the Last Unicorn) who loves kids and illusion tricks.

*He started to hear whispers from the 'Moon Goddess' in his dreams and made a pledge to help others in any way he could. The voices told him that his destiny was greater than he could even imagine.
*Thinking he'd be a cleric, he actually started out as a warlock with a patron of the Fey. Mal'saria taught them how to change their appearance to anything she desired.
*Her favored look is how she views her mother (the most beautiful person she knows) Her mother's actual appearance is quite plain but to Aryn's memories she is stunning.
*When her memories started to come to her and she was brought 'back' into the Kryn circles she was tagged to learn Dunamancy.
*Anamnesis doesn't quite work fully and she has trouble matching her memories to her current life. Worried she would be accused as a fake she pretends it worked and has been trying to find out more information of where Crystal came from.
*Her only friend in the den is Donaar, a herbologist who is really good with plants and has a very quiet and peaceful aura (she also might have a crush on him?) He sold her out to their Den Mother.
*Her den mother's name is Do'lania She is no longer part of Den Beltune.
*Her cat is named Flore (Flor-ehy)
*Patron's name is Mal'saria

She is still finding out about her past life (it may not have been as good as she has been told by people who knew her from before) She was born Aryndell but has taken up her old name of Crystal to relive her old majesty of her past.

Aryn always believed she was supposed to be the special kid. In stories it was always the third child who became the hero, or the one who solved the problems. With her beauty and grace she often got what she wanted with little effort. This was mostly because she was a 'big fish' in a small pond. When she started to regain her memories, hearing whispers that called to her, at first she thought it was her angelic guide, Selene, but the dreams could not be questioned and so she decided to follow her dreams to the center of the Kryn Dynasty. She feels her calling to Rosana is proof of her being special though it was a rather rude awakening when she found out she was small fry upon arriving in the capital.

While she already had a habit of using a little bit of illusion to heighten her appearance, she took to using it to keep up a visage of a drow with draconic heritage, even going as far as to create an illusion of faint dragon wings sprouting from her shoulders and horns from her brow. She figured if she can't stand out with her current past, she can stand out by showing off her past life!

Crystal is also graciously kind and gentle, especially when she feels like someone else is watching her. She was called 'Little Miss Goodie Two Shoes' by her sisters and it has only gotten worse since she decided her Destiny was to follow her past greatness to reclaim her true linage.

Out of illusion:
Pale skin, sun-kissed and freckles with round human ears, gold horns but not as shiny protrude from grey braided hair instead of the luminous silver/white. You can see that his tunic can easily be mistaken for a corset and his robe is open from the front but can easily be converted to a skirt. He has palazzo pants under the robe and respectable boots. The materials are still edged in gold but not as intricate and is more a cotton/linen, suitable for daily wear, and well kept via mending.

In another universe:

The elf sat there as the illusion dropped from their body. What once was dark grey-purple skin and long elven ears, became a pale skin, sun-kissed and freckles with round human ears. The golden horns that curved upwards was revealed to be attached with a band around the head, the shining silver braids and soft curls surrounding them turning into drab grey braids that no longer hid the affects of travel and sleeping under the stars. Even the layered robe shifted from outlandish silks into something a little more appropriate for travel, though it was still well cared for. "My name is not Crystal," Their shoulders slumped, head hanging for a long moment before they glanced up with a wince, eyes shifting from bright silver to a stormy blue. They were worried what the party would think. So many nights that secrets had been shared between each other and well, shifting aspects of their look came as easy as breathing to them now so it hadn't occurred to them that this was akin to lying. "It's not even Nolatari," they added to a certain few who had learned the name that had been picked when they first left their home. "Nol is my mother. I am the third born child of Nolatari and Garreth," He took a deep breath, "and the first born son." The transformation was completed. Soft curves had turned into angular features, round hips were straightened, delicate shoulders now squared.

"I was born Aryndell Smyth. I grew up in Charis, and well, nothing really happens there." As if that excused his previous transgressions. "My sisters, Sarynae and Kaitlynn were everything my parents could have wanted. Sarynae became a priest of the Wild Mother," He nods at Brownstone for a moment before turning his gaze back down to the ground. "Kaitlynn started a family, and I was supposed to follow in my father's footsteps." His shoulders dropped once again as he continued. "I wanted to be a dancer, or maybe an adventurer, or at least see things beyond the boundaries of the village. My family did not understand it, the whole village is much like that also. Insular, scared of the outside world. When I was a kid, a troupe came through the village and I learned to dance and perform by watching them. By then I started hearing whispers," he pointedly refused to look at Morvryn, "I would have dreams, fragments of memories, which got stronger and more clear. I had hoped for change, something new, and these memories seemed to be my ticket." He looked back up again at the group, almost defying them to argue with him. "I talked to the elders, requested to travel to the City in my memories, maybe find where these dreams connected to. It is when I found out I had a past life, I was Crystal Morningstar, a Dragonborne of high regard. This was the heritage I had dreamed of, this is why I always had the pull of traveling in my soul."

The human rolled their shoulders for a moment,  back popping as it straightened before they made a few small motions and clicked fingers sharply together. Just as quickly as it had dissolved, in a shimmer of magic, the illusion was back, expression shadowed and practiced for the moment. "I followed the signs and puzzles to Rosohna where I found my way to the Kryn. Do'lania, the Den Mother of Den Beltune took me in, I was to learn Dunamancy, they saw great potential in me, this was my calling." She turned a well manicured hand down and brushed off invisible dust from her satin robes, "I found my home in Rosohna, a place where I can be myself." Crystal sounded a little like she was trying to persuade herself that as much as she was telling the party that surrounded her. She shrugged and the familiar smile was back on her face at that point. "I plan on living up to my past greatness and mastering Dunamancy. Maybe even start my own den." Illusion woven together once more she drew herself up, scintillating in the low light, glowing like the moon itself had come down from the heavens with a fierce energy of determination.
