General: Maru Mizushima is the eldest son of the Mizushima family which consists of four other frog siblings.
PokeVerse: Before he was a Home Economics teacher, Maru was one of the youthful stars of the ever so popular 'Poké-Rangers!!'. On the show he played the handsome calm cool and collected leader named the Blue Greninja (while he was a Frogadier). After 3 seasons, new shows were underway and the Poké-Rangers fell out of popularity and Maru was out of a job. His next career was as a Home Economics teacher as well as a Gym substitute coach where he was loved by most of his students. During this time he was engaged to be married to his fiancée and have his first child.
Almost a month after their ceremony their son Haruto Mizushima was born... Marus wife died shortly after from birthing complications. With bitter sweet sadness of his wife’s death and the birth of his son, Maru evolved into a real Greninja.
NarutoVerse: Comes from the Hidden Village of The Mist. During his time there, Maru was brought up under the old curriculum where students were pit up against one another in a battle to the death. After gaining his rights to call himself a ninja, Maru vowed to never take a life again if he was able to help it. He has taught many students over his years as a teacher, watching them grow and leave on their own journeys.
Currently he is on the brink of retirement and with his last teaching challenge, he decided to take four talented students and gave them each a frog pertaining to their individual strengths and talents.
