Born to her mother Liliwen and father Ossian, Hiraeth was the only child. Hiraeth’s mother was an older woman, a Deer shifter like her father. The House Hiraeth lived with, called Travelers of the Valley, were nomadic, traveling from place to place throughout the mountain range they called home. A lively, energetic and curious child, Hiraeth often wandered off from her House, exploring the rivers, valleys and forests constantly. Unfortunately, Hareath doesn't remember her life before her creation, with her memory being wiped. She gains memories throughout her journey, snippets of her mother and her childhood but no full information. Waking up after her creation in a large lake filled valley, she headed out to find God’s Peak, the tallest mountain peak.

Unfortunately, Hiraeth's memories of her early life and her family are hazy. When she was reborn, transformed by the Old gods using the raw energy of the earth, she lost many personal memories and connections. While certain events, places or things may trigger fragments of her past, she often wishes to forget due to the grief associated with those memories. Kindhearted and trusting to a fault, Hiraeth possesses a strong sense of focus and a desire for everyone to be kind and good. However, her journey unveils the harsh reality that not everyone shares her kindness or prioritizes the well-being of others over their own desires and goals. As a result, she becomes uncertain of her own purpose and role, questioning whether she even desires or wants one. Nevertheless, she holds a deep care for Cedar, her closest friend, who remains a steadfast presence in her life and throughout her journey.

• partway through her journey, she broke the cartilage in her ears which result in them being partially droopy
