Profile
Cedar, a 49-year-old man born into a wealthy and esteemed family, grew up alongside his brothers Barren and Fen in Northpass. Being a Caribou shifter like his mother Aeryn and brother Barren, Cedar possessed a talkative nature that often landed him in trouble during his childhood. The brothers engaged in games centered around the theme of war, reflecting the prevalent atmosphere in the Kingdom of Northpass. However, Fen's betrothal to another family led to his eventual disappearance, leaving Barren and Cedar without contact. Barren, instead of pursuing marriage, joined the Northpass watch, an organization of Valorions dedicated to defending the city. Sustaining a leg injury in an attack, Barren retired early with a limp. Inspired by his brother's commitment, Cedar followed suit and joined the watch, gradually rising through the ranks to become the Fang, the Lord or Lady's second-in-command.
As Cedar assumed his role as the Fang, he became increasingly stoic, driven by personal and family centric honor. However, the Southeastern kingdom of Pinefell launched an attack due to a conflict involving a betrothal between the two kingdoms. All valorions, including Barren, were called to fight. Barren fought hard despite his injured leg but tragically died in battle. The loss of his older brother deeply affected Cedar and instilled in him a growing idea of ant-war. When Hiraeth's existence came to light, Cedar was assigned the task of scouting and gathering information for Northpass. During his search, Cedar crossed paths with Hiraeth and seized the opportunity to offer his assistance in her journey to God's Peak, where she sought to attain complete godhood. Over time, Cedar's allegiance wavered, and he began to question which side he was fighting for. After an internal struggle, he ceased sending information to Northpass and wholeheartedly devoted himself to aiding Hiraeth. Cedar became Hiraeth's unwavering bodyguard and closest confidant, willingly going to any lengths, including potentially sacrificing his own life, to protect and support her on her path.
Cedar and Hiraeth are close friends, traveling with one another and spending nearly every moment together. But Cedar, unfortunately, has developed more romantic feelings, though he’ll never admit it.
Vale is Cedar’s former ruler, leadinf Northpass and commanding Cedar to find Hiraeth for information and her planned capture. Now their relationship is severed and tense.
Cedar and Rhosyn meet during training, him being a quiet soldier and he lets Rhosyn ramble for hours. She also loves leaving the kingdom, dragging Cedar along when she can to explore the woods and fields in their wild forms. .
Dawson is in the same friend group as Rhosyn and Cedar, a fellow soldier as well. He joins the two in their adventures and is the in-between of Cedar and Rhosyn.
