Qiu

A big nerd who loves plants.

Little fish in a big pond. Qiu grew up in the city, with a deep love for magical botany. He has a little bit of merfolk blood in him (1/16th) but always assumed he was an ordinary human until a fishing trip went badly wrong in his first year of university.
Qiu's second 'puberty' was rather traumatic for him. After the lake incident the birthmarks on his skin darkened and his teeth fell out to be replaced by sharper ones. He finds it difficult to control his new form.

• Qiu’s name has the characters for ‘autumn’ and ‘pond’ and is also a homophone for ‘candy ball’
• Qiu has mild asthma and is not good with hot weather
• Qiu’s hair tends to defy gravity. He cuts it himself
• Qiu has a preference for vegetarian dishes but is not a vegetarian
• Qiu likes soft things but is wary of animals since they move so fast

Boyfriend

Olive is a vet and his family owns the tea shop Qiu frequents while he writes his thesis! They are very soft together. He also owns a fat cat called Marmalade.
