• It was easy for Dawn to fall in love with him. She admired his passion and the careful ways he'd listen and talk with her. They met when Dawn first started to escape from her housefolk and investigate the city. Together they worked to rebuild The Volatile Insurrection, a faction of cats against Shades tyranny that fell with the deaths of its core members (Swiftsong, Talon, Dermot, Shark.) He was a brilliant father to Flare in the short time he knew her before ultimately being killed by Shade in an act of jealous revenge.
• Secretly he knew Dawn was in love with Shade and was unsure of how to process that emotion.
