History

Kris comes from a very long line of Mages who practice magic and are protectors of towns and cities. Kris's mom is an extremely renowed one and there are high expectations of her to follow in her mother's footsteps and become an expert mage herself. Despite these high expectations, Kris does genuinely enjoy practicing, despite the fact that she can't do much more than the basic magics.

Since she had struggled to decide in what to do, Kris's mom sent her off to travel, to try and find a teacher of one of the specialties so that Kris can become a fully liscensed mage in the future. Also warning her to not come back without having learned one as to not be a disappointment. Kris struggled with finding one, not having any preference for which magic she specialized in.

Along the way she does find some friends. Other colorful characters who are also traveling for their own reasons. Whether it's to find a new home or family, they decided to stick together for now. That is, until Kris finds a traveling mage. One that practices a higher level of magic that is almost unheard of, but the few that know of it consider it dangerous. Though Kris's interest is peaked by it, and wishes to learn.

Mage Magic

Unlike other species who tend to only specialize in one type of magic, humans have the ability to practice most kinds of magics. These Magic types are Fire, Water, Light, and Shadow. Each Mage must learn the basics of each type of magic, and then to become fully liscensed, specialize in one or two of the elements.

Each Element has different properties:
Fire is offensive and supportive. Typically used by Mages who do the most fighting.
Water is offensive and Healing. Water can have healing properties when used but can also be freezed and manipulated for combat.
Light is illusive and healing. Light magic has healing properties but can also create illusions and make it harder for fighters to hit
Shadow is illusive and supportive. Shadows have magic that can hide people or other objects, and can be done to help others hide as well.

Forbidden Magic

"Forbidden Magic" is a fifth kind of specialty for mages to learn, yet it doesn't follow any of the elements, seeming to take from all for kinds. Originally this specialty was just called "Aura". It is considered far more powerful than the other specialties and is harder to control, only a few people could ever learn to control it. Thus it was considered dangerous and banned from use.

The Forbidden Magic takes the form of glowing auras and energies that a person creates, it's color represented by a person's morality. This can change over time depending on someone's actions or how they're seen

It has the ability to harm, or to heal depending on how the user wishes to use it. The energy can also form physical barriers that you can touch or even stand on. But this magic builds up in the body, and as it does it becomes harder for a human body to handle.

Eventually the magic buildup would become too much for someone to handle, and they either have to stop the magic, or they can cast away their human look to embrace the chaotic magice more. To do so they will form a mask made out of some of the magic, with a large buildup inside of it. and the person's body will take on a new humanoid form, the magic look. But they can create a human disguise by putting back on the mask, their magic will just be more limited that way.
