About

One by one, Cybil watched the House of Highwind collapse. With control over the fort in the north that guarded against the dragons, and tasked with protecting the security of the kingdom’s peoples, it was only necessary that the Highwinds, now waning in popularity with the war, join the fight. After watching her father disappear, Cybil took on her glaive and jumped into battle - one that would be short lived. Nearly dying in the attempt, the winning dragons picked her up as fodder for their own plans. Changed by the magical experiments of dragons seeing if they can turn humans into one of their own, Cybil became a demon - a half dragon, half human creature that most certainly could not return to her house as an heir. Swearing revenge on the Dragon King, Cybil picked up the work of a sellsword on her way to track him down, only to find further complications. You see, the dragon and human kings were one and the same - and to free her people, she would have to work with her enemy and become the kingdom’s first dragon rider.

Still, even though she grew used to the bickering matches she and Vetyr would have on flights, there was a sinking feeling in her spine. It wasn't feeling like a monster that did it - if anything, Cybil never felt more in her element her whole life, even if she hated the dragons. Here, nothing could hold her back from being herself. But as for her family, she couldn't help wonder if they would accept her as anything but the obedient soldier they wanted her to be.

Design Notes

  • Her wings are smaller than depicted!

Trivia

  • Her dragon partner is Vetyr, a Shadow Dragon. The two bicker constantly at the start of their alliance, frustrated by belief that they must work with the enemy to unfurl the plot the king is planning, and find out just why he started a war amongst his two people. Yet beyond that, they soon realize that they are similar creatures in nature - both nobles trying to claim their birthright while recovering from an ongoing war that brought down pieces of their lives.
  • She can't fly using her wings. She can, however, glide, which is really useful for doing acrobatic tricks and jumping off of Vetyr mid-flight.

"They call me a traveller, but I'm more or less an enthusiast for taking down that blasted dragon king."
