Profile

This universe of Terren consists of thousands of floating discs, each having just a handful of creatures living on them. Each disc is supported by a god, who’s only real purpose is to care for their subjects and not let the disc fall, as if it does, the god will die.

Gods usually resemble their subjects, as their image is created by the minds of their protected. The gods themselves are completely different from each other in appearances, character and ideology. Some choose to stay hidden from their subjects, some act like part of their clique. Some split their time between the disc and communicating with other gods, others don’t care about the other gods at all. Some try to get their subjects to like them, others hurt them for fun.

But if there’s one thing that could unite the gods: it is that they fucking hate each other. Their ideas of what their subject’s life should look like are so vastly different that almost no two gods get along. Unfortunately, they cannot fight, as their bodies aren't physical to anything other than the disks. So instead, they fight with the discs. Each god uses different methods to get their subjects to hate other discs’ creatures as well. Then, they bump with a disc of a god they don’t like and the creatures from both worlds fight, until one has no one left. Then, the disc becomes inactive. The winning disc can hang around and scavenge the losing one for a while, until it rots away and the god dies. The subjects can have peace until the next war.

Terren is a god in the "Frisbee soup" universe. They are a relatively calm god of a relatively calm and peaceful disc. Terren preffers to stay mostly hidden from their subjects, so they took an appearance that blends in with their surroundings. Terren has two appearances for the two different states of their disc, called "day" and "night", each lasting about 12 hours.

During the day, Terren watches their subjects, memorises their mistakes and later gives them vague signs of the general direction they should go in to get better. Terren never speaks to them directly, as that would ruin the mystique and secrecy they desire. The day is considered the time of the people (creatues living on the disc) and the collective. It is the time the subjects spend talking to each other and working together.

The night, however, is considered the time of solitude and self-reflection. The world gets darker and more dangerous, with other, lesser creatures waking up. This causes people to hide inside their homes with only a few or no others. Terren also uses this time for solitude. Primarily, to speak to the other gods. Drowned in the voices of other creatures, it is difficult to hear Terren's quiet wispering. They do this because hearing the god's voice would give away their existance without a doubt.

To set people against other disc's creatures, Terren uses the peaceful nature of their subjects to their advantage. They allow the other disc's creatures to interact with theirs, but subtly prompt their subjects to act more hostile than usual. The opposing disc begins to also act more aggressive, to which Terren's people respond with violence. They will view it as justified self-defence, as they have a self-perception of a very friendly and peaceful nation, and so will the other discs after their victory. This way, Terren gets to keep their reputation among the other gods, stability on the disc, the trust of their subjects and still win the battles.
