Quail Song grew up with lousy parents. Her father left when she was young and her mother is always at the bottom of a bottle.

Quail Song at the age of 10 fell into a wormhole that the evil Draconequus, Discord, had made. This resulted in her wing being broken and infused with Discord magic, making it unhealable or controllable. Quail Song still has feeling in the wing, but she cant move it at all.

Quail Song did very well in school, and thus was invited to the pompous Canterlot High. She immediately stood out, not just for her bandaged wing or unique eyes, but for her pissy attitude. She never made any friends.

Eventually she becomes partners with a jock Pegasus named Onyx Twister. She didn't become his girlfriend out of love, rather to just get by. He would physically and emotionally abuse her, until eventually she just couldn't take it anymore. She broke up with him, and got beat up by his group of friends as a result.

Soon after, Quail Song meets a royal unicorn named Honey Crunch. Honey was the exact opposite of Quail Song; a bubbly optimist. Normally Quail Song would never touch these kinds of people even with a 10 foot pole, but they had been put on a school assignment. Quail Song thought Honey was a priss because of her wealth.

Eventually Quail Song went to Honey's house to work on said project, but she had invited some of the popular kids over. Among those people was Onyx, though Honey honestly didn't know how much of an asshole he was. Quail Song ended up getting in an altercation with him, breaking one of his legs with a kick.

The stress of the situation caused Quail Song to begin to have a panic attack, and she ran away to hide in Honey Crunch's lifeguard shack. Honey help her through by holding her close in a hug. The intimate moment made the two feel flustered, and they kind of began to form feelings for eachother.
