A Glauxian Brother that possesses firesight. Mordune saw a vision in the flame that led him to discover the injured Solvarg. Without his help, the Siberian Eagle Owl would not have survived the night.
Mordune slowly and gradually becomes friends with the bitter Solvarg, who still resents all Tytos. However, Mordune's family had also been wronged by the Pure Ones--as black barn owls, they were rejected from Metal Beak's vision, which only valued the "pure" white-faced lineage. Mordune's family was declared a disgrace to the Tyto image, and so they were slaughtered. Mordune was pushed from the nest as his kin were attacked. By hopping away and hiding in a thorny thicket, the Pure Ones were unable to locate him and he survived.
Mordune is eventually stolen away from his monastery by the Pure Ones, who only keep him alive due to his ability. He is used as a seer to their benefit.
