Moved to Gravity Falls and got a job at the Mystery Shack to investigate the Weird there at the suggestion of two old men who showed up at his home town to investigate the same odd thing Cipher was.
Due to his name and his love of the colour yellow, many of the townsfolk of Gravity Falls were weary of him, thinking he may have been Bill. He doesn't know who this "Bill Cipher" is, and once, when someone was less overt about it, asking if he was a triangle, he panic-confused answered "what's a triangle??" because it was such an odd question to him. This became a running joke that he just leaned into; not knowing what a triangle is.
Cipher spends most of his free time in the woods, journaling about the creatures there. He spends so much time doing it, that he can frequently be found dozing off at work due to lack of sleep. He does a decent chunk of his investigations and research with his cowoker and friend, Violet. (Last two images linked there)
His journal is yellow with the same bee design that's on his turtleneck. He can also be drawn wearing the same staff shirt Soos wears!
