Aoi Hebi's Links
Akabi has been Hebi's best friend since they first met as young kids. Akabi was always seen as the outcast, the one that didn't belong, and Hebi's always understood him. He knows how Akabi always felt, and never hesitated to stand up for him, no matter who had been mistreating Akabi in the moment. He feels an attachment to Akabi that's more than platonic and he knows that, but he fears that everything would turn for the worst if he were to make it known. He refuses to leave Akabi's side even now, when Akabi could fend for himself and be independent so much easier than Hebi himself could. Currently, Hebi can't think of anything that could possibly distance him from Akabi and make him dislike the other, though there's a single thing hidden away that could possibly tear their bond apart for good if Hebi found out...
Ever since they first met when they were young, Akabi felt a draw to Hebi. They were alike in many ways, he had someone that understood him for once, and didn't leave him to fend for himself if he got caught up in problems. Hebi was always the one that jumped to protect him and go off on those that mistreated him. Hebi helped him feel his first sparks of emotion, and even eventually...love. He swore long ago to ALWAYS be there for Hebi and stay by his side, no matter how he had to do so. If Hebi were to stray, or Akabi feared he would be taken away...he'd stop it however he felt the need to. After all, Hebi can't be taken away if Akabi knows every single thing there is to know about him, including the secret of his left eye...
The two of them have known each other and been around each other since birth, and have been the best of friends the entire time. While sometimes Midoriya's constant energy and hyperactive joy can be annoying to Hebi due to being so different in those regards, he still enjoys it deep down. It's a big part of what's helped start to restore Hebi's faith in the world and people around him, and not get fully sucked up in his bitter cynicism from his circumstances. And while he may deny it, he's got his eye on Midoriya in more ways than platonic, and thinks he's possibly had a crush since their teen years. But due to his feelings for Akabi like this, and not wanting the three of them to be torn apart, he keeps it to himself. As long as Midoriya's still smiling and doing his best to make the world a better place like always, Hebi's fine with how things are now.
Ever since birth, Hebi's been Midoriya's best friend. As they grew up, and even now, Hebi's acts of lazing about and taking things really slow grate on him and annoy him, but he still is happy to acknowledge that Hebi's behaviors have also taught him how to stop and smell the flowers once in a while, and just take in the situation as it is without a bunch of excitement everywhere. He's learned how to go about things slowly and carefully, and to think with his mind as needed and not feel with his heart for everything thanks to this, and can still keep upbeat and cheery without being ridiculously deluded by toxic positivity. He's so close to Hebi, so happy with him, that he's sure of himself when he says to himself that he has feelings for Hebi and has since they were young. Hebi was his first-ever crush, even. But with their mutual feelings for Akabi and want to keep the three of them together and happy, Midoriya doesn't say a word about this to either of them. Friendship is a treasure all its own that Midoriya will always hold dear.
