Manitowoc Enki Chaplin was born with the silver spoon in his mouth. His parents were very wealthy people, thanks to his father and his multiple businesses. The Chaplin's own multiple companies and have rewired most of what they've gotten to be more people-centered than company-centered. After all, the people are what make the company successful, so why not reward them for their service? That's what his father often said. His parents would still be here today but, unfortunately, both his mother and his father had drowned in a boating accident. Part of him has always wondered if it was foul play or if it was truly an accident. Nevertheless, he was about sixteen when his parents were pronounced dead, and he went off to live with his grandparents, who happily took him into their home in Oraborla. He remained on the continent and within their care until he turned twenty-one. At that point he was considered and adult, and ultimately took it upon himself to come back home to finish the work his father had left in his son's hands.

There was a little friction when it came to the temporary CEO but eventually it didn't take too long for Mani to rise to a seat of power. Of course, Manitowoc had to fix a few things since this CEO was mainly desiring power for himself but ultimately he got things back into their proper places and things were back the way they should be. For the next nine years, he remained working for the company, found eventually found himself rather bored doing it, since the vast majority of the companies could take care of themselves. So, out of the blue, he decided to join the police force. At first the force wasn't too sure, but he kinda bribed them and now he does stuff with Columbo and Khaysa and other officers in his free time. He doesn't know all that much about the job but finds it much more amusing and entertaining than sitting in a desk all day, watching stocks and such on a screen. Outwardly, he's doing this because he can. Inwardly, he's doing this because he's finding that he enjoys this sort of work.
