Muriel resides in a swamp located outside the village center. Her cottage was inhabited by her family by generations, but she is all that remains after others left for better opportunities elsewhere—Muriel is too attached to let go. She traverses through the wetlands with a scythe, slicing as if the tool was an extension of her arm. She rears wheat and forages for mushrooms and roots, but the largest amount of Muriel's time is spent brewing a miry, earthen ale that is popular on the market. By selling her ale, Muriel makes enough money to sustain herself humbly. Her animist beliefs carry into her work, as she is always earnest in her routine of thanking the land and her tools. She never fails to leave offerings for fae.

Muriel was initially annoyed by Rigel, whom she perceived as arrogant and disdainful. However, after she saw Rigel's dedication to his farming and his soft, creative side, Muriel sought out his presence more and more. She was thrilled to share her life with Rigel, as well as learn from him and incorporate aspects of his philosophy into her own work. She grew to fall in love with them, and now the two consider themselves partners. Muriel shows affection more privately than Rigel, but Muriel is always thoughtful and tender in her words and actions, murmuring her praises and always picking up things that remind her of them at the market. She can become flustered by her girlfriend's own confidence and strength.

Muriel entertains frequent visits from Bruno, who often drops by the cottage to chat and help with farm work. She finds it difficult to express, but she enjoys his company and appreciates the help. Although some consider Bruno flighty, Muriel believes him to be diligent and kind, and she mostly appreciates how he takes her seriously.
