The unholy Gatekeeper of Hell, Cerberus’s job is to make sure no one gets out and to chase down those who have been marked Hellbound. They each lived on Earth as stray dogs, and were each killed by humans. They became hellhounds, and roamed the Earth terrorizing humans, until they encountered Elijah the Tishbite, and attacked him. Elijah used his holy power to fuse the hellhounds into one in order to get away. Normally, such a process would tear the demons' souls apart, but somehow Cerberus has managed to maintain an unprecedented balance between the three souls that now inhabit their one body.
Cerberus is the familiar of whichever demon prince is currently residing over Hell, making them the only demon who regularly changes masters.
personality
They sometimes fight amongst their own heads, which have different opinions on practically everything, and their mood changes with the weather. Despite their deep-rooted bitterness towards humans, they have a soft spot for children. Cerberus is often playful and lackadaisical, and chases damned souls with much the same enthusiasm as a hound after a rabbit. They are curious and love to gossip.
trivia
They were named after the dog of Greek mythology because of their three heads.
Their demon form is a 12 and a half foot tall black hound.
Their eyes change between yellow and red because one of the original three hellhounds had red eyes and the other two had yellow. Their eyes are never both red at the same time.
story
Cerberus leaves their post at the Iron Gates of Hell in order to observe the attack on Heaven. They form a contract with detective Rita Clement in order to gain access to Earth where they can better watch the culmination of Jezebel's revenge.
