Personality:

Sundae is, despite their long life, immature and childish. They pride themselves on their talent of granting wishes, and get upset when credit isn't due. Due to their power (as well as their very life) being fueled by prayer, belief, and general acceptance as a god or deity, they will do anything to improve that, even if it puts others in harm's way -- or worse.

By the end of Iwama, and through some of the adventures that Sascha takes Sundae on, they have begun to reconsider the worth of being 'known by all, but cared by none' vs being 'known well and cared by few'.

Background:

As a Jirachi, they were born with the express purpose of granting wishes. However, their power was very, very, weak, and due to that, could only perform small miracles at best. However, perhaps as a miracle in their own right, they were given the power of time travel by Celebi, who urged them to save the past in ways they could not.

This was a mistake on Celebi's end, for, rather than simply help the past, Sundae used it to influence the past's perception of themself. And not only in their timeline -- but in countless timelines, using Dyna as an anchor to make heading to the past easier for them. This allowed the Jirachi to accumulate power quickly, and made them one of the strongest pokemon in all of Iwama.

Sascha, however, a human, defied that power in every way possible.

After several timelines of watching Dyna try and fail to save Sascha, Sundae saw the human as a non-threat and therefore, easy to take care of. Even when Sascha, alongside Dyna, manage to take care of the skeletal Kyogre, they appear with the goal of tricking Sascha into falling into the same trap as Dyna.

While Sundae does in fact restore the life of Sascha's friend, Russ, they did not expect to be thoroughly defeated in combat and captured. And how insulting it was! Sundae, the all powerful wishmaker, caught by a mere human? They had to get out as soon as they could! Yet, as time would pass, so would Sundae's impression on Sascha -- and eventually, realizing that perhaps Sascha and them are more alike than first assumed -- they properly accept their role as one of Sascha's 'servants'.

Other Info:

Sundae's power in granting wishes has a few core rules:

  • The stronger the world's general belief in Sundae, the more capable they are in granting wishes and performing miracles as a whole.
    • This is why, especially in worlds where they are human, their power starts off very limited.
    • An exception to this is during the time where the worlds started to blur. From that, Sundae was able to pull power from multiple worlds at a given time.
  • However, even a single person can give Sundae that power through sheer will -- for example, Hyde's desperate plea to see Melody, as well as Melody's plea to see him, was what allowed Sundae to open a portal directly from one person to the other.
  • Sundae cannot grant wishes for themself without the help of another person.
