Profile

Personality:

Dyna always feels like the plans he has set in stone are the right way to do things. He’s stubborn,  he’s grumpy, and he doesn’t want to corporate unless given a reason to.  Cold and distant, Dyna makes befriending others difficult. Despite this, he’s not spiteful – his behaviors are aftereffects of when he was  under contract with Sundae, constantly jumping back in time over and over again to save his trainer. With this threat gone, he’s a bit more apt to open up to those who are patient with him. Lastly, while he  tries to hide it, he’s easily scared and has a few things that can trigger mild panic attacks. They are: bugs, blood, and while it’s unlikely he’ll see it, the pokemon Zangoose.

Background:

He comes from Iwama, a pokemon-based region in a post apocalyptic world that was nearly destroyed by Groudon.  A reluctant time traveler tasked to save the world’, he makes it his mission instead to save his trainer, and is put under a contract with one goal:

“To save your trainer, bring to life the being of the oceans.”

No one said it would be easy, and no one said he’d be forced back to a particular point in time when his trainer would die. Fourteen loops passed. Fourteen times he’s seen his trainer die before him. Fourteen times, he had failed. He wouldn’t let this happen again.

Today, the world is saved from the threat of Kyogre drowning the few creatures left in their world. He’s off contract now, and both his and his trainer live their lives without the threat of being thrown back in time. That said, that doesn't stop Sascha from being reckless -- being so bored of the thieves going too well, the two of them spend the off time jumping through worlds to cause minor ruckuses.

Abilities:

Being a Latios, Dyna has the powers that this pokemon has. He can use psychic powers, attack using his draconic claws, and fly at high speeds. As his home far, far off in Iwama's past had connections with Kyogre, he also had a few water based moves -- notably, the ability to call forth small rainstorms.

His most notable ability, though, is to refract light. Unlike a true transformation, Dyna can bend the light around him using his feathers, and from that, trick an opponent's eyes into believing that he's someone else. He doesn't gain and special abilities or powers through this -- after all, he's still just Latios -- so it's crucial for him to not make any actions that might bring his guise into question.

Post game of Iwama, Sascha eventually teaches Dyna some of her tactics and, through intensive training, shifts Dyna's typing from Psychic/Dragon to Posion/Dragon. While he still has control over his psychic powers, he now is able to poison his foes with his toxic claws.

Other Info:

  • His trainer is Sascha, who he cares about more than he lets on. He enjoys serving her and considers her his closest friend, even if he’s super ‘tsundere’ about it.
  • *He’s 14 years loosely; time travel messed things up, and in the universe he’s set in, the species of pokemon he is ages far slower than humans. (Naya, the only other of their species, is over 100 years old but is still considered a ‘young adult.’)
  • Dyna is his ‘human name.’ His Pokemon nickname is Cupcake, but only Sascha (his trainer) can use this name!!
  • He has a good singing voice, and may be prone to humming to music he finds catchy. This talent was what drew Sundae to him in the first place!
  • He doesn’t trust anyone who puts up a ‘deal’ and 'giving’ wishes without some sort of price. He’s been there, done that.
  • He hates owing people (unless it’s Sascha, then it’s more of a contest), and will do anything in his power to make up for it.
  • He loves spicy foods, dislikes sour foods, and thinks cheap 'americanized’ Chinese food (called 'Spinda Express’ in his world) to be the best thing since sliced bread.
  • He technically owns a Vullaby named Sweetheart, who Sascha 'caught' for him before knowing that he was a pokemon himself.
