Personality: calm, collected, wary, but friendly to others. He's cheerful and enjoys the thrill of hunting. Is rather partial to water and loves to swim. He would become a fish if he could. He's a bit reluctant to share his past, but is extremely protective. Mach loves children and will adopt homeless cubs to replace those he lost. The lanthrax makes an excellent teacher and wants to try to find a family again, at the same time is afraid to.

History: Born to a loner mother, Almach was pretty much left to his own devices as soon as he could walk. She fed him, cared for him, but didn't seem to know what to do with a cub toddling after her. He doesn't know her history or why she was alone, unusual for a lanthrax, but she shied away from talking about her past or the horrible burn across her right side. When he was two, she went hunting, but never returned, leaving him on his own. Mach managed to survive until he ran across a pair of thraxes, who chased him out of his territory. Skirting the scent edge, he ran into the male a few days later. The two fought, but Mach managed to wound the thrax well enough, he ran off. Found by the female, Mach thought he was a goner, but she decided he was strong enough, having just trounced her mate. Darkala seemed dismissive, but clearly was more interested in the survivor.

Almach was wary, but her attentions won him over and they stayed together for several years. Unfortunately, the male returned for revenge while Mach was out hunting and, upon seeing little cubs that were clearly theirs, tore them apart after ambushing their mother. The lanthrax returned home only to find nothing left and attacked, successfully killing the male. Since then, Mach has haunted the territory that was once his home, slowly going mad. Thankfully, he was found by a little lion-hearted tonttu, Potato, who pulled Mach from his increasingly suicidal thoughts and gave him a purpose and a direction - to help others and protect those he comes across to avoid such tragedies happening again. Mach now happily adopts anything he can, be it animals or cubs (and occasionally adults, if he can get away with it). 

Encountering the Al Shifa was the best thing that could have happened to the lonely heart and Mach willingly began learning herbs and such to better help others he comes across.

Random facts: 
-- Will adopt anything, be it another cub or a pet.
-- Almach has a 'worry stick' he stole from a human settlement and likes toying with it since it rattles when it moves (it has beads inside a hollow tiki-like rod).
