Raymond Chevailér (Ace Assaulter)

The Ace Assaulter is the criminal alter ego of Raymond Chevailer. He got his name after his first big gig, stealing from a jeweler titled addlers. He left an ace of spades as his signature, and has adorned card suit motifs ever since. The Ace Assaulter is just as much of a public figure as he is a criminal. He's known to show up to fans meetings, sign autographs, and smile for the press in the middle of chases. His fantastic publicity has made him a well known name around the states, even outside of New Orleans where he resides and operates.

Ace has only ever commited large scale heists and arson. In his 20 years of doing crime, no one has been injured beyond a punch in the nose. Without a single casualty, it makes it easy for the public to sympathize with him. He makes it a habit to expose immoral and powerful figures, burn their residences to the ground, and give their money back to the people or tucked on the welcome mats of well intentioned kids who don't have enough to pay their next rent. He was known to keep a spreadsheet of homosexual or black youth that were cast out or found themselves homeless, knowing when their bills were due and dropping the perfect amount of money where they might just so happen to walk by it.

His actual cases are trails of carefully placed clues to run his ideal detective through a personal narrative, in which he pays friends or acquaintances to play the role of witnesses or victims. Theyre manufactured and designed to be the perfect puzzles, but once a month or so he'll get bored and just steal for the sake of stealing. His premeditated crimes always targeted a single detective, usually the same as the last, his 'favorite' of the time, and walked him through a plot that either directly correlated to something regarding his personality or past. Though, most often, they were designed to press every button he had. To put it simply, piss him off.

Ray's crime base in his wit, and more often than not, it feels more like sitting through a comedy skit than solving an impossible heist.
