This lion fears a lot of things. There's a lot of dangers out there and he's seen a lot of it during his time in the Ruins. Probably the thing Chameleon can't stand the most, however, is angry folks. He doesn't like it when others get mad and start shouting - it's pretty startling, and scary. Whenever arguments happen, Mel is quick to shift into the form of something that can run fast and get out of there, to somewhere else where he can hide away and be safe, with some peace and quiet. He'll return when everything calms down, later.

. . . .P6. . . .

Chameleon dreams, so often, of others loving him for himself, and not for whomever he turns in to. At the same time, he gets a bit insecure about his spooky red eyes and void like fur. So even though he might have that dream, he also spends much of his time pretending to be other people. There's something he finds comforting in being able to be anyone he wants. Still, as of late he's trying to just show up to events as himself, and finds that people welcome him in the more he does so. It's really kind of nice.

. . . .P7. . . .

Chameleon's name is for the ability he has to shift his fur and shape to any being he has previously seen. He thinks it might be a bit on the nose, but the actual chameleons are very cool looking, with fun scales and awesome eyes. So he appreciates them all the same, and is glad to be named for such fun creatures. When it's time to shorten his name, however, for easier speaking, he goes by Mel. Perhaps it has a meaning behind it, but if it does, Chameleon surely doesn't know. His name is his name, and that is enough for him.

. . . .P8. . . .

Other lions say things that they don't mean, or put odd phrases in their speech. Chameleon wishes he understood what it all meant, but he just isn't comprehending it, no matter how hard he tries. Metaphors and similes are so confusing, and don't seem to make sense. Even worse, different places in Silvarum will have different phrases of speech, and he'll have to learn them all over again. Really, everything would be so much easier if everyone just spoke literally and said what they wanted to say, simply and understandably. Alas, he thinks that it shall never be a thing.

. . . .P9. . . .

Chameleon gets scared about things pretty easily, and is fairly slow to act. He can spend a lot of time worrying about what might be out there, or what his actions might cause. But to spur him to action, all it usually takes is someone honestly asking for his help. He loves assisting others, and while doing something scary for himself can be hard to do, doing something scary because someone else is also scared is different, for some reason. He feels like he's going after something for their sake, like he's supporting both them and him, and feels that perhaps it's good that he's just the medic apprentice, then - with Radha asking him to do things all the time, he gets to be enthusiastic about his tasks all the time. Sometimes it's still frustrating, of course, but he'll put his best paw forwards, for the sake of whomever needs it.

. . . .P10. . . .

Quite simply, no. Chameleon is still finding his place in this brand new world, and in his old life, he was seen as a bit of the town fool. Romance has never crossed his mind, and no one has really ever had interest in him, either. If anyone enjoys spending time with him, it's as a friend, or as a mentor figure to him, and Mel is perfectly happy with that. He takes life as it comes, and enjoys things as they will be. That hasn't included a love interest so far in his life, and perhaps it never will. But in the end, he joined the Regiment to see a new place, to make new friends, and to help out the lions that helped him when he needed it. Mel has simple wants in life, and he's doing just fine in the group of fighting lions he calls his own.

. . .P12. . .

Chameleon's greatest enemy has to be some of his older mimic family members in the Ruins. He's a bit of an odd man out in his family - a lot of them are quite happy to be the villains, but Mel never was. So, of course, it led to many arguments and fights early in life. He had to deal with the fact that a lot of the people he cared about didn't really care for him back. But there were still one or two lights in that darkness, and the few friends he had there still mean an awful lot to him. He's a lot happier here in the Regiment now, hiding away and healing his brand new friends. Perhaps some day he'll have to confront his old family again. But he has a new family now - one that, while perhaps not bound by blood, still is his very own.

. . . .P13. . . .

All sorts of unnatural things are very normal to Chameleon. He's a bit of an odd one out, himself, with his strange magic and origins. But really, the world of Silvarum is full of ghosts and spirits and scary things. It's all to be expected. Things happen all the time, and monsters are out there. It's just a simple fact of life. He enjoys meeting the friendly ghosts that roam the world. The unfriendly ones, not so much.

When it comes to religion Mel is pretty sure that someone, or something, is out there, looking out for him. He's just not entirely sure who that could be, or if they worry about him at all. He really hopes that they could. Because, if they did, then they could be his friend! And he would love to have some more friends. Whatever the answer might be, though, he's not all too worried about it.

. . . .P14. . . .

Chameleon's place is a bit of a wreck. It's organized chaos - he knows where everything is and what it all is, but he's got a few too many things to properly sort them all. Mel has a lot of items he's gathered, both to use for his disguises, and for the appeal of it all. He loves things that shine, or that have good memories of a previous life.

His bed is a simple fluffy blanket he was gifted by Radha when he left his own home and arrived at the Regiment. She wanted to make him feel more welcome. Well, it certainly worked, because he fell in love with the object, and every night, he cuddles up amidst the folds of the blanket, looks at all the random trinkets scattered about his den, and smiles. He's finally found a place for himself to stay, and it's all he could have wished for.

. . . .P15. . . .

Chameleon would perhaps be a good parent in the future. With his optimism and his ability to understand how others work, through having pretended to be so many others, he could really help cubs grow into good people. But right now? There's no way. He's still figuring out things about himself, and he's barely an adult himself. It's not for him, not yet. He doesn't even have any love interests yet - everyone he meets right now is simply a potential new friend and person to talk with.

He'd be happy about cubs, he supposes. New life is always cool! But he thinks he'd also be pretty stressed about it, worried that he wouldn't be good enough, or prepared enough, to raise them properly. So for now, instead of thinking about that, he goes through life however he can and learns about other things. It's just not the time for it.

. . . .P16. . . .

No, he's not all that competitive. Not with others, at least. He has things he wants to learn about himself, or accomplish, but he's not trying to be better than others in that. It's more like he's competing with himself, trying to improve himself and his disguises. Still, even then it doesn't feel all too much like a contest. It's more of a journey, a journey in which he can get demotivated and sad, yes, but still finds joy in his progress all the same.

Whatever he manages to do, he'll be happy that he's made it that far, and hope for better in the future.

. . . .P17. . . .

Chameleon isn't all too sure what he thinks of himself. He's been so many other people and been so many other things that it's a bit hard for him to find that sense of self. Mel know just that he's a fun loving little alien who can look like whatever he wants. To that respect, it's what is on the inside that matters far more that the outside. He isn't quite happy with where he's at right now, but he is happy that he's learning more about himself and making friends in the Regiment. That will have to be enough for now.

. . . .P18. . . .

Catchphrases are at the core of all Mel says, considering that he learned a lot about languages by copying what others would say to him, or things they had said in the past when he pretended to be them. His most common phrase changes from day to day, but most commonly right now he'll say 'I can help!' It's something he heard Radha say once, when she was heading out to assist someone else, and Chameleon wants to be the same way. He wants to help people, too! So, of course, this leads to him mentioning that all the time.
