Chameleon is a bit of an odd fellow. He's a master of disguise, able to change into any being he can see, and copy things they've said in the past. The issue is that he's not the best at explaining things with his own words. He's not the smartest, taking longer than the average folk to understand some things, and he confuses quite a few others.

But in the end, he's a kind soul with a good heart, and he wants to heal and help others as much as he possibly can. Here in this new home of his, he thinks there's so much he can do about that.  Chameleon is pretty good with potions and herbs, and an optimistic, friendly face in the medicine den - when he's not in his actual form, of course. He comes across as quite scary, with his red eyes and spooky face, but he doesn't think he could find it in himself to hurt anyone.

History

Chameleon's past is a little bit mysterious - to the point where the little fellow isn't quite sure himself what's true. He's been pretending to be other people, other things in so many places, that he's lived too many lives in too short a time. Everything gets jumbled up for a while.

He arrived at the Regiment by wandering up through the Ruins. The tunnels he knew as his home were vast, and expansive. There were always going to be monsters down there that wouldn't be found, and some of the other impostors like Chameleon had bad intentions. Eventually, he ran off to gain some assistance with this issue. And through the adventure he had with a group of lions from there, he grew to love them, their interactions and how they worked together. He decided to stay - and it was impossible to get rid of him after that.

Some folk were mighty suspicious about Chameleon, but Radha took a liking to the little fellow. She invited him into the medical den and he fell in love with all the herbs and fun smells. He offered to help, and stayed to assist. And so, in the Regiment he's stayed ever since.

Chameleon, ever since they joined the Regiment, has been drawn to the life of a healer. There's something special about being in the healer's den, all the herbs and potions around him, and the smells of safety in the air. He might be a pretty scary fellow on the outside, but inside, he really just wants to assist in making the lives of others a bit better. He could fight if he needed to, transform into the disguise that would give him the strength he needed, but that's just not his style.

So, he simply spent several days with Radha, following her around, and after he saw how she treated lions and how much she was able to help everyone, to make everyone feel better. Chameleon wanted to do that, too, so he simply asked if he could learn to do all that she did. She set him to gathering and identifying herbs, trading for medicines and blankets with the traders, and doing various tasks. He did them all with little complaint, happy to wander about in this brand new world and communicate with all the people in it. One day, he was going to be the best Medic ever! But being an apprentice wasn't bad for right now.
