Blue Cat's eye Tourmaline

A quiet bruting gem. Rather prefers to be by herself. Quick thinking loner. Soft-spoken. She has low self-esteem, ever since she was betrayed by one member of her former squad.

Her sense of trust was severely damaged, on the brisk of being gone, due to the betrayal. She is hesitant to open up, for fear of any of her flaws being used against her. She has no problem giving loyalty, if she thinks the gem she is giveing it to deserves it.

Kat was created as a low tire homeworld gem. No one sees her as anything more than a foot soldier, or a disposable distraction. Determined to prove them wrong, she painstakingly climbed herself upwards on the social ladder. It wasn't the most difficult thing to do, she had a way with words and even then she was a good liar. Also to improve her standing, she taught herself shadowkinesis. She gathered many allies, but also enemies unknown to her.

One day she went on a mission to Earth with her squad to find a group of rebels. Kat was appointed leader, due to her ruthless nature and iron casted grip on control. The homeworld squad was successful, and they found the group that consisted of a sapphire, a few rubies, and an amethyst. On the way back to the ship, Kat noted that the Sapphire kept looking at her funny. After demanding the Sapphire to spit out what she was thinking, the Sapphire told her of many terrible things that would befall her.

Kat scoffed, but soon bit her tongue when she sensed a figure fast approaching, She turned just in time to see one of her squad members lunging towards her with her fist clenched and raised. The gem had harbored a deep hatred for Kat, mad that she had become a leader and not her.

The fist made contact with Kat's gem, cracking it along with her face. The homeworld gems left Kat's gem on the surface of the earth since, despite her higher status, some gems still saw her as disposable. With her gone, the rest of the squad could take all the glory for themselves.

After reforming and seeing her cracked face, she thought about hiding herself but instead marched back to Homeworld.

They were appalled by her face, but seeing as she was one of Homeworld's best assassins, they gave her a synthetic mask. She continued her task until the war started, then she was eventually found by rebels and had her gem shoved into the closest thing, which was a music box.
