As a half-dragon, half-Fae, Fiore was never really accepted by people of either kingdom due to the hostile history of the rival nations. However, they believed deeply in the love they knew their parents shared for each other, and since childhood yearned to one day see the kingdoms lay down their arms once and for all and join hands in peace.

After studying intensely to better understand the political, historical, and social context of Mercurial, they attempted various times on both sides of the border to work their way into office to try to spread an influence of trust and togetherness over the enviornment of fear that had been crafted by the rulers. Eventually, they were able to make their way into the outer rings of the Fae Court, though they were still snubbed by most others due to their "tainted" lineage and half-dragon blood. Initially, they were determined still to try to prove themself by their own merit, but it quickly became apparent that the dignitaries would never be willing to look past their heritage. Though considered to occupy a position of rather high-rank, they were relegated to doing mostly "dirty" but necessary jobs, most notably acting as a "debt collector" and mastermind behind the Fae spyring who would hunt down people and ensure that all their favors be properly paid, or manipulate situations so that one party would "owe" the other at a later period.

They became convinced in this role that they had to keep up an appearance of a very exact and shrewd dignitary, but in reality, became jaded and frustrated with their job. Bitter that they would always be looked down upon by other Court officials, and feeling stuck in an awful position, they retreated in time mostly to the background, only to be summoned when the more prominent figures needed their services.

They had all but resigned themself to this fate until Silver and Peti started making trouble and actually trying to push peace negotiations through between the dragons and the Fae on Mercurial, and became very interested in their exploits. Though somewhat reluctant to leave the security of their position, and what they knew, Fiore eventually gave into Silver's pitch for an opportunity at a new life. But before they were ever able to carry out their plans, Mercurial was destroyed by a demon god attack, scattering the survivors in the aftermath. Devestated, and feeling even more lost than ever before, Fiore decided to Silver and Peti, more or less keeping them from getting too deep into trouble as they travel from world to world.

"There's a snake in the grass."

Trivia

  • Her family birthname is Pendragon, but she adopted "Blodwen" instead after taking up a position in the Fae Court, due to political and social pressure surrounding her mixed bloodline.
  • Loves to hum and sing.
  • Has a soft, sweet voice, and could probably talk someone into selling the ground out from under their feet and vanish before they had a clue as to what was going on.
  • She is by far the most organized of the Daydreamers, and usually the one who can pull Silver and Peti out of the trouble they frequently get themselves into.
  • Sneaky and calculating. Some old habits die hard--or rather don't--Fiore tends to be highly suspicious of strangers and is constantly postering and positioning to try to keep the upper hand around people all while wearing a polite facade, particularly those she doesn't know. Those walls come down after someone earns her trust, though.
  • Is the kind of person who has dirt on absolutely everyone, and would love to rub their faces in it if they ever give her an excuse to blackmail them. She'd be wonderfully pleasent about it, of course.

Origin

The only child of a dragon and Fae, from the day she was born, Fiore was caught in an undesignated social space in a world where her parent's respective countries cultivated a long-lasting hatred for one another, with tensions between the two kingdoms always high. She was never accepted in either Fae or dragon society due to her half-blood heritage, and made to feel as if she could never belong as a full-fledged citizen no matter which side of the border she lived on. her estrangement made her fiercely independent and self-reliant from a young age, and she grew ever critical of the political games played by both heads of state, which see saw as means to belittle and other while cultivating an atmosphere of distrust and anxiety.

Through the love she knew her parents had for each other, she wanted to believe in the possibility of peace between the countries, someday, and somehow. As she grew older and was taken from kingdom to kingdom by one parent or another to stay with them, she began to study the history of the Fae and the dragons, and the various wars they had waged against each other, hoping to one day force her influence into the political sphere and put an end to the hostilities.

Past

This of course, proved extremely difficult for her. As many public figureheads failed to take her seriously or even respect her personhood, she was repeatedly barred from taking any sort of governmental position. After repeated attempts in both the dragon and fairy capitals, her intellect was eventually noted by a few high-ranking Fae, who wanted to use her skills to their own advantage. Cognizant of this, she accepted the opportunity with the intention of working her way up the hierarchy with her own merit.

But she was never able to climb higher than the outer courts. Though these positions were considered still to be "high-ranking" among general citizens, she had no form of decision making power, or pressure. Relegated to "dirty" jobs that the others thought suited someone of her heritage, she was put in charge of organizing more "internal" affairs: more specifically, "debt collection" of Fae-bound favors owed to various court members, as well as managing the spy ring. It was her duty to keep track of, hunt down, and call in those favors when they were requested, or manipulating situations in which one party would be forced to "owe" another. For the Court, this not only kept her busy, and out of "trouble," but continently tethered to a socially demeaning role.

The job paid well at least, and Fiore was able to support a very comfortable life for herself, but was saddened that she seemed trapped in an occupation she did not want, away from the goal she'd set for herself so long ago. Jaded, bitter, and feeling very beaten, she gave up her dream of changing the world and built herself the persona of a shrewd, pretentious, and devious officer. No longer did she try to move any higher within the Fae courts, and over many years of work, resigned herself to her backroom position and the place that society had forced her into.

Present

That changed when she noticed two of the newest liaisons, Silver and Petit Four, who were actually trying to negotiate a peace treaty between the nations, rather than ceremonially parade their roles as had been done by those prior. She took interest in their exploits, ordering some of her enforcer teams to spy on them and keep track of their progress. Suddenly, her old childhood hopes re-sparked, she arranged to meet with them in order to find out what they wanted to really accomplish.

Silver seemed able to see behind the snobbish mask Fiore had cultivated for herself. Noticing that her skills and ambition were going to waste, and the knowing the sadness she had sunken into, he offered her the chance to join him and Peti, and try to end the dragon-Fae conflicts once and for all. Initially, she refused, believing it too good to be true, and too convinced herself that her current life and the consistency it at least provided was worth clinging to.

But she continued to monitor them in secret, always revisiting that small ray of hope that had been buried by the disappointment she felt for her failing to make a difference. Again, Silver appealed to her after catching one of her agents and confronting her, and this time, she joined him.

When Mercurial fell, Fiore was devastated, but followed Silver and Peti to other worlds, having bonded with them and developing a respect for their honest desire to work for peace. Like Peti, she eventually discovered that Silver was actually a god, and is one of the few mortals in on his secret. She more or less tries to keep her companions from getting too deep into trouble, as she considers herself the most level-headed and practical one of the group. But then again, she wouldn't really want to ruin the fun.

Sterling Silver

Silver is the one who ultimately convinces Fiore to leave behind her old life and rekindles her old childhood dreams of trying to sort out peace between the Fae and dragons of Mercurial. When the world was destroyed, she chose to follow him as a friend and visit other worlds, studying what she could to better understand the war against the demons. Despite his habit of getting into trouble, she respects Silver as someone who accepted her as a person, rather than jumping to conclusions and snubbing her like most of those throughout her life.

Petit Four

Fiore first began paying attention to Peti when they were assigned to be the new Fae liasion. Though they never really got ot know each other until after Silver convinced Fiore to join them, they both recognized in the other the past traumas of being used and pushed aside by powerful figures. This shared experience allowed them to bond much more quickly and develo a trust in one another as friends.
