Composed • Elegant • Malicious • Manipulative
A quite intelligent psychiatrist and sorcerer. Dr. Obsidian works mostly as the Empire's therapist, attending the Eggbosses and workers who might need it, even serving as a listener for Eggman himself. He has been with Eggman almost since the beginning, but not in a continuous contract, he used to be mostly an ally, serving as a powerful and dark force whom Eggman tended to hire as an assistant or helper whenever he wanted to awake some sort of entity.
Rather than being there when the entity is summoned or awakened, Obsidian served as a guidance in researching how the entity is going to be awakened, until Eggman found utility in Obsidian's therapist methods and hired him as such in full time for the organic underlings (Such as EggBosses and others), especially since he became more experienced in summoning entities.
Likes

Dislikes
- Sun, he despises it and if he stays exposed to it it'll begin to affect his skin greatly
- Hot weather, it makes him uneasy and uncomfortable, especially in his wings
- Battles and confronting others, he doesn't find joy in fighting, it's extremely annoying and worthless for him, so he rather avoid fights. But if he situation requires it, he will fight
- Strong smells, they bother him a lot
- Loud and sudden sounds like explosions, his ears are sensitive

Personality
Of a composed demeanor, Obsidian shows himself as a very elegant mobian with refined customs and manners, acting comprehensive with the others and even being kind to those who become his patients. An observer in nature, he's one of those who prefers to stay quiet, just observing and analyzing everything in his surroundings to understand the dynamics and mentality/cosmovision that people could have, taking mental notes for the future and use them in his favor.
This helps Obsidian to understand how people think and how they can be easily deceived, as the bat has a quite manipulative tendency, telling people exactly what they want to hear and knowing how to convince them, with Eggman being the only exception.
Despite his apparent endowments of kindness, Obsidian is a malicious person with ill intentions, he's quite selfish and acts only in his own gain, showing himself as someone cold and heartless in most occassions, lacking of emphathy and only seeing people as simple pawns they could use in the Eggman Empire... or just a complete nuisance that needs to be eliminated.
Despite the fact that he doesn't show fanatism tendencies, he's deeply devoted to Eggman and his empire, admiring the man with fervor and truly believing that his goal of creating Eggmanland and turning organics into robotcis is fascinating and visionary.
Abilities
• Blockage: He can use his wings as shields to block long and medium range attacks.
• Magic: Being a sorcerer, he can use magic to attack and defend himself, as well as levitate objects (not people).
• Sonic Screech: He can produce a high pitched screech that can stun anyone and interfere with signals in a radius of 5-10 meters around him.
Weaknesses
• Sudden insense light, it will blind him for a while, allowing his opponent to take advantage of this.
• His wings. If they receive damage, he will be terribly affected by it.
• Despite being a great sorcerer, he can't use his magic for too long or with too much intensity, otherwise, his energy will run out and he'll be prone to faint.
Trivia
• Whenever he's outside he uses a sunhat and sunglasses to cover himself from the sun. Sometimes he replaces the sunhat with a black parasol.
• He uses his wings a lot, they're almost like a second set of arms for him. Whenever he wants to hug someone he will do it with his wings too, as well as using them to cover himself.
• He's a vampire bat, meaning that he should consume blood, but instead he consumes a substitute. This is because blood tends to make him get out of his senses.
• He's a powerful sorcerer, his knowledge in magic is quite deep and was the one that taught it to Cipher.
• He was Cipher's mentor when the owl was younger, but none of them know that the other works for Eggman from time to time, having on count that they lost contact when Cipher began to work on their own.
• He spends most of his time in his consulting room, which is similar to a library with a great amount of books, a desk, cushioned chairs, a chaise longue and windows covered with dark curtains.
• He has a deep knowledge in arcane powers, which allowed him to find his own power gem: The Energy Sugalite, which allows him to enhance his magic powers and recover faster after using them.
• After so many years of working with Eggman, he has developed a great patience, which allows him to listen to his ramble without problems.
• The reason of why he isn't a therapist for Eggman but only someone that listen to his rambles, is because Eggman refuses to be told what to do, so Obsidian only listen to hims, serving as an outlet for Eggman's frustrations and concerns. Obsidian is more than happy to listen to him because he knows that it actually helps Eggman's psyche, but sometimes he can't help but feel bad knowing that he could do more if Eggman would let him.
Boss (Modern Verse)
Dr. Eggman
Obsidian deeply admires Eggman for his determination and perseverance when it comes to achieve his goals, along with his courage, tenacy and everything he has achieved despite having so many failures. When he got to know that Eggman was interested in the paranormal, he gladly offered himself as a help for him in that field.
Nowdays he doesn't help Eggman as often in that area as the latter has learned quite a lot and is able to do almost everything on his own, but he's still there to give him assistance if needed or gladly receive him in his consulting room to lend a shoulder to the doctor to listen him ramble about his frustrations related to Sonic or any concern he might have.
He cares for Eggman and will follow him and his orders without hesitation. Of course he notices whenever Eggman is doing something in the wrong way, but after offering an initial subtle advice, if Eggman decides to ignore it he shrugs it off. In the end, he knows that those failures are experiences that his boss need to go through to be able to improve.
His relationship with the empire is quite easy going and he can enjoy pleasant talks about science with the evil doctor, exchanging knowledge from time to time.
Boss/Romantic Interest (Classic verse)
Dr. Robotnik
Obsidian simply adores Dr. Robotnik. He's loyal to him fully and serves as his assistant, always by his side and doing anything the doctor wants him to do. He's constantly watching over Robotnik to make sure that he's fine and whenever he gets hurt, he helps him, as well as serving as emotional support whenever the man is going through a negative emotion (Whether it is anger, sadness, etc).
He's tender to him and treats him respecfully even when the man is acting eccentric or yelling at everyone. Always keeping his own temperament calm while the man absolutely loses it. He's almost his opposite and finds Robotnik's childish and chaotic/evil behavior to be endearing.
Whenever he does something tender towards Robotnik, the latter becomes flushed or flustered, thing that Obsidian absolutely loves.
Mentee
Cipher the Owl
Cipher was Obsidian's protegee, he taught them almost everything he knows about magic in hopes that Cipher would continue his legacy, but the owl decided to go on their own way instead. Both are in good terms and they still consider each other as mentor and protegee, but they haven't been in contact since Cipher was a teenager.
Cipher respects him deeply and admires him, while he considers them someone with a great potential to be a wizard... and lowkey sees them as a younger sibling or as his own child, despite the fact that they only have 9 years of difference.
