The Essentials
Often falling over his own words, Dr. James Rogers is a bit of a mess to talk to. A little frantic, stuttery, and distractable in places, he actually tends to avoid human contact in order to avoid the consequences. With the demeanor of that one teacher you had who was two steps away from a nervous breakdown, people often wonder how on earth James is even a Therapist.
The thing is, what seems concerning to an unknowing onlooker, is actually almost baseline for the man himself. He's used to living in this state of bewilderment, and he does have ways to cope with it should he really need them; it's just with memory issues, bad habits, and not always being the one in charge of the body, he tends to forget to actually put them to use.
Although a bit of a mess, James is an incredibly kind person who struggles with putting himself- or his System- before the needs and well-being of others. He's caring to a fault, and would answer a client's calls in the middle of the night if it helped even a fraction. Still, he believes himself to have no friends, scared to assume in case he's wrong.
- Scars: James is very scarred up due to a hard life. The most visible ones are on his forehead, and the back of his right hand. For a full chart of injuries, see here (TW: low-detail scars & injuries).
- Glasses: Fiddling with his glasses so much, they've become a little mishapen. As such, they tend to sit crooked on his nose a lot..
- Psychology: Being a long-term Therapist, and DID and Anxiety being such large parts of his life, James has a lot of theming in emotions & mental states.

but you didn't beep?!

Can I say I deserve to be happy again
Say what you see, because nothing feels real
Do you feel the same way as me?

And be calm.
Be calm.

DID System
Dr Astor Rogers
the estranged brother
A reformed Persecutor who has never seen eye-to-eye with James, despising him for his 'weakness' regarding their birth father. There's a knowing level of respect between the two, despite this, and Astor protects them all equally.
Dr J. Rogers
the replacement twin
In James' desperation, a new James was split to be a (breakdown-deemed) 'societally acceptable' version of himself: No Anxiety, Not Gay, Not Asexual. He hosted for over half a decade, and raised a family, until a looming depression proved his perfection wasn't sustainable. James is nervous of his twin.
Rupert Rogers
the excitable brother
A naieve, innocent man, who's extroverted to a fault. Constantly bouncing around, Rupert is the innocence of the System. James loves his younger brother, but is often frustrated with his high energy levels.
Amelia Rogers
the internalised mother
James' relationship with his mother was rocky; she protected them all from their father, but at the same time allowed it. And so, when she passed, the System couldn't cope: it split a copy of her to continue looking after them. He loves her as he did his own mother.
Beatrice Fortuna
the overdramatic aunt
Loud, Proud, and Living for the Show, Fortuna is the socialite of the System- and these days, the Co-host. A Theatrical Queen, and pays most of their bills by working as a 'Shakespearean Adult Actress'.
Dionysus Fortuna
the bohemian uncle
Fortuna's husband and personal caretaker, albeit he's not good at it these days. A meek man who dotes upon Fortuna like she's the moon and the stars. James shares a kin-ship in anxiety with the man, but also feels incredibly sorry for how his wife treats him. He's often found drinking.
Maki
rupert's dragon 'wife-oo?'
Rupert's Protector, and a cause of mild anxiety for James. She's loud, and incredibly English in that yappy way that starts fights. Still, he's happy she's there to keep Rupert out of trouble, even if it often fails.
Alice
purgatory's gatekeeper
An Alter born out of one of James' big breakdowns. Believing he was in a Wonderland-ish Purgatory for a period of time, this little Grim Rabbit appeared. She avoids him mostly, but he occasionaly feels her prescence watching.
