Grieve

Grieve is a torture demon of Hell. His job is to find recently dead souls in Purgatory and drag them to Hell, where he changes them into demons through horrible methods of torture and abuse. He's one of few demons that have a second form he can turn into: A giant black widow spider.

Grieve is the first torture demon known to exist, and upon his creation, claims to have met and have had a brief conversation with the Dark Master (which is laughable to the rest of the demon world.)

Grieve is later summoned by Astasia to the human realm, preventing him from finishing his work on Zerek, who ultimately escapes his lair after Grieve is summoned, and wanders Hell aimlessly.

In his imprisonment, Grieve is kept in very constrictive confinement in the Hunter Kingdom in the human realm, being looked after by Calem, deep under the city, in the lower levels of The Cages, until the chance arises and he escapes- leading to the downfall of the kingdom and death of Astasia.

Other Information

Upon his creation and after the so called meeting with the 'Dark Master', Grieve encounters the four fire lords. At this time, Grieve is rather innocent, and unbeknownst of what he is born to do. A torture demon is the only demon that can gather souls from purgatory and change them into demons. He does not understand the concept of pain and agony and openly talks to the fire lords without much fear, as the feeling of pain, itself is rather pleasant to him. Garanzo and the other firelords take great interest in Grieve and chase him throughout purgatory, wishing to have control over the one thing that can create other demons.

Grieve is able to escape through purgatory and makes a little corner of Hell his 'torture chambers'. He is a very secluded demon and NEVER leaves his lair, for if he does, he runs the risk of being discovered by a fire lord, that of whom would love to have their very own torture demon to create monsters as they please. This being said, Grieve's one greatest fear is crowded places. He gets light headed and has something of a violent panic attack.

Despite the unsettling fear Grieve bestows upon his victims, he is actually not a very powerful demon. He has even come as far as creating demons that can possibly overpower him, if they weren't so utterly afraid of him. As he typically works with humans, pulling their souls into Hell from the waters of Purgatory, humans, who are already naturally on a much weaker scale to demons and other creatures; Grieve holds onto a very powerful demeanor making those that he tortures see him as something of a god, which in turn, hides the fact that he isn't very powerful at all.

With this being said, Grieve's soul is not breakable. A soul can be 'broken' under too much power and force. This has happened many times to human's under Grieve's care. Breaking a soul is 'permanent death', and is the biggest fear to any demon residing in Hell. The body remains 'alive' but the mind is destroyed, leaving nothing but a hollow shell. One can be wounded over and over in Hell without 'dying' as they are already dead, but under too much constant force, and not enough time to recover, a soul can break. Grieve's however, is deemed an unbreakable soul. He may be overpowered, but his body will always find a way to put itself back together again. The Fire Lords are the only other demons that have 'unbreakable souls'.

Even More Information

He can turn into a terrifyingly large, BLACK WIDOW spider (About the size of Shelob from Lord of The Rings)

Not much of a smile-er. So he doesn't smile that often. When he does, it's because he has a great idea, which usually involves something possibly sexual, or brutal and inhumane.

He can create a blood web, from his own blood (he is quite the masochist/sadist) that ties up his enemies (or playthings). If his blood happens to enter the blood stream of his foe/ally, he can control them as if they were his own body and do whatever he pleases with them.  This can be done on a much larger scale, and those infected with his blood, can infect others, and thus bring upon the destruction of a certain Hunter Kingdom in a sort of 'zombie apocalypse' type aesthetic.

One of his favorites methods of blood torture, is to create a bunch of tiny blood knives that spew out of every puncture in the body, no matter how small the the orifice is. He can turn anyone into a weapon!

*With this being said- Grieve's blood controlling power does not last forever- and after a few hours- should the infected be still technically 'alive' after the charade, will finally be able to control their body again.
