Alkumez

The demon of bones. Lives on the highest peak of the largest mountain in the Human Realm. This demon saves souls that are gravely wounded in battles and wars. Alkumez takes said souls to its house made entirely of creature's remains- and heals their wounds with magic and herbs. Alkumez clearly states to all those that it looks after, they are free to leave whenever they wish- but the height of the mountain, and the below freezing temperatures prevent anyone from safely doing so. - Those that attempt escape, scarcely ever make it half way before needing the medical aid of Alkumez again. No one has ever died of their injuries under Alkumez's tender care- all of them have perished of old age, unable to leave the mountain, or the demon who inhabits it.

Alkumez - The Demon of Bones

Alkumez is a roughly 3500 year old demon, whose taken to living in the highest and coldest temperature in the Human Realm. Many tales and myths center around the demon Alkumez as no one is quite sure if it actually exists or not. Alkumez is rumored to scour recent battlegrounds, in search of souls in need of medical aid.

Alkumez is a peaceful demon- very calm and not easily angered. Even when angered, the demon's eyes may change color, from a soft green to a dark, red tinted black; however, Alkumez's caring expressions will rarely change. It has been said that Alkumez will break your legs with a twitch of his claws, while humming a soothing melody to it's charge.

This being said, Alkumez's bones are completely indestructible, and it has the power to break other's bones as if they were twigs. Unlike many demons, who center their focus around fighting and slaughter, Alkumez does not enjoy harming others, in fact, it loves the act of healing- entirely consumed by it. If there is someone in need of his aid, Alkumez will be there for them and will tend to them until they are fully healed. This is not something one would normally wish upon themselves, however, as many have attempted suicide under Alkumez's watchful eye. Alkumez is so obsessed with healing the injured, it will purposefully injure others, so as to have a reason to heal them. Should a creature ever leave the demon's presence and use of magic for a long period of time, the past wounds from the entire span of their time with Alkumez will eventually reappear, causing them to die a tragic and painful death; fortunately, this has yet to happen to anyone yet, and continues to remain a secret that Alkumez keeps to itself.

Over the years in seclusion atop the highest mountain, the bone demon has fallen into a deep settled madness- this madness showing through as it partakes in full on conversations with itself, sometimes not making any legible sense at all- and many times, speaking in a foreign tongue, thought to be the language of demons. The creature is not entirely void of sense, however, and always enjoys long conversations with those it looks after.

Alkumez's lifespan is incredibly long for a demon in the Human Realm- as many have thought Demons only appeared after the 'Great Rage' happened nearly 1500 years ago- yet the bones of creatures lining Alkumez's house's walls date back an extra 2000 years since then- of course, only those bestowed with Alkumez's loving generosity are the only ones to have realized this; as a single soul is yet to have successfully survived scaling the mountain's wrath, to tell the tale.

Alkumez's Thoughts on Suicide.

Attempted suicide is a sure way to make this normally serene and thoughtful demon bare it's fangs. Alkumez forbids the act of self harm, ignoring the fact that it is always the cause of the harm coming to it's patients. If a creature attempts to escape via death, Alkumez will paralyze them from the neck down, so they can live out the rest of their lives without any more harm coming upon them.
