Fredia was born in a small family that found itself in some hardships following her father's injury on his job and from an early age Fredia found herself doing whatever she could to help make sure her family could do well for itself. From learning how to help maintain their home when she was young, to keeping her grades up, to working as soon as she could alongside her older sister Gabriela and mother. It was in this process of constant home up-taking that Fredia discovered she had a talent when it came to fixing broken machines. A talent that would prove to be useful one day but in the here and now was seen more as just a random quirk. For the longest time Fredia was able to live a steady life with her family. Not the greatest perhaps but one where they didn't need to worry about money. No unneeded expenses, no bills that couldn't be paid, at least at first.
It was on her way to school that Fredia walked by a construction crew busying itself with road repair and it was the carelessness of that crew that ended up changing everything for Fredia. It all happened in a moment, she never saw the random bit of metal that hit her, but after being rushed to the hospital the results were clear. A massive medical bill for her family and for Fredia a now missing right eye. The resulting lawsuit did plenty for her family. Not just in paying the bills brought on by the city's carelessness but also helping their financial situation become somewhat stabilized and buying Fredia one of many prosthetics.
Soon enough Fredia was enrolled in a local college where she found herself entering something of a rivalry with a new professor named Archer. The two traded multiple verbal barbs throughout the semester but as soon as they were no longer professor and student Fredia suggested they get coffee and try and quell the bad blood. Their resulting relationship was short and they managed to end things amicably as was her following relationship with a handyman with a young man named Fabian. It was through these two in particular that Fredia discovered she had no desire to enter a relationship but also rediscovered a hidden talent of hers. A knack with machines.
In the months that followed Fredia applied to anywhere that might take someone with her talents. From big chain stores and their computer repair teams to more local stores. The latter of which proving the be the source of her future employment. Nowadays Fredia can be found working hard at a mechanics and body shop called Victor's named after the store's owner and her boss. Working a job she would openly admit she enjoys while sending what spare money she has her parent's way if just out of habit to make sure they are still well taken care of.
